Did you know your pets need skincare too? 🐾

When the air turns dry and the sidewalks get salted, paw pads and noses take the same beating our hands do. It is easy to miss until it is already rough.

So we made the Pet Paw & Nose Balm: unscented, vegan, and made with eight plant-based ingredients printed right on the tin. There are no essential oils in it, which is the part that matters most, because plenty of botanicals that are fine for #dogs are not fine for #cats. Safe for the dog, and for the cat who grooms the dog.

A thin layer before the walk is all it takes. The arrowroot in it gives a dry, matte finish, so there is less to lick off and nothing to wipe off your floors.

We brought it to the market and sold out. Twice. So this week we poured a much bigger batch, and it is online now.

Some of our favourite customers walk on four feet.

Our new Paw & Nose Balm is unscented, vegan, and made from eight food-grade ingredients: shea butter, candelilla wax, Canadian-grown camelina and rice bran oils, arrowroot, colloidal oatmeal, and vitamin E carried in a little soybean oil. That is the entire list, and it is printed on the tin.

There are no essential oils in it, and that was deliberate. Plenty of botanicals that are perfectly fine for dogs are not fine for cats, so we left every one of them out. It is a balm for #dogsoftoronto and #catsoftoronto alike: safe for the dog, and for the cat who grooms the dog.

The arrowroot gives it a dry, matte finish, so it absorbs instead of sitting on the pad. Less to lick off, and no greasy prints across your floor.

Use it before winter walks to protect paw pads from road salt and dry air, before hot summer pavement, or on a dry nose whenever it needs it.

Okay, so pumpkin everything is back, and honestly? We're part of the problem. 🎃

Our Pumpkin Maple Nourishing Soap has returned for the season, handmade right here in Toronto with real pumpkin purée, coconut milk, and an actual splash of maple syrup. Yes, real maple. No, please don't lick it. It's #handmadesoap, not breakfast.

Here's what will happen: you go in for a normal shower, you rub this between your hands, and suddenly there's a creamy lather everywhere, and the whole bathroom smells like warm orange and clove and someone baking. You will stand there longer than you meant to. Your water bill is not our responsibility.

Skin comes out soft, hydrated, and vaguely smug. Plastic-free, palm oil-free, vegan, and zero synthetic fragrance, because we think a #vegansoap can smell incredible without the mystery chemicals.

We are coffee people.

We make sustainable skincare.

Therefore, we made a cappuccino body butter.

Dramatic pause.

In all seriousness: this reusable tin holds 70g of rich body butter, and there’s some genuinely good stuff inside. We infused freshly ground coffee beans into jojoba oil for three days. We used real vanilla oleoresin, not a synthetic stand-in. And the cocoa butter? Raw, so it actually smells like cocoa.

Oh yeah. It smells divine.

One of our favourite hot‑weather comforts is a banana smoothie: creamy, nourishing, and quietly sweet. So, we started thinking about what a soap inspired by that feeling would be like.

We didn’t want something that felt energizing and uplifting; we wanted a soap that felt like we were embraced, loved, enveloped.

So we added Frankincense, Cedarwood, Juniper Berry and Vetiver, along with Kaloin Clay. Oh my! It feels good!

We just made a new batch of the Turmeric Carrot Soap. Now what?

After mixing the ingredients at the right temperatures, we pour the soap batter into moulds. They need to stay there at a controlled temperature for a couple of days to complete the saponification process.

Then we remove them from the moulds and cut them to their final size. We bevel the corners and clean the surface of the small shavings. We stack them and put them in a dark shelf.

Now we wait. One. Two. Three. Four weeks! That's the time they need to fully saponify, balance the pH, and evaporate some of the remaining water. They harden and become ready for you to use.

It's a beautiful science, a precise art.

Did you know that we design, print, cut, and assemble the packaging for everything we produce ourselves? Yeah, it's a lot of work, but there are so many benefits.

When you send your packaging design to a print shop, they usually require an MOQ (minimum order quantity) that can reach the thousands. This would leave us stuck with the same packaging version for ages. Instead, we take an iterative approach, updating and improving our packaging every few new batches, ensuring we keep getting better.

The logistics costs and carbon footprint of sending our designs to a print shop would also be way higher. Sometimes, a shop would print in one place, send it to another plant to cut and score, and perhaps even to another spot to fold and pack everything. What we do requires us to purchase paper from elsewhere. Still, the entire process happens exactly where we create and produce our products, giving you confidence in our commitment to sustainability.

Naturally, we don't have high-quality, top-speed machines, so our packaging quality could be better. But we want to demonstrate that what matters is the product. We are committed to showing that there is an alternative to the quick-and-easy plastic wrapping that the rest of the industry relies on so much. There is a way to produce something we use every day entirely plastic-free.

When you purchase from us, you are getting something that is truly a labour of love. We personally handle every step: creating a new product, selecting ingredients, building supplier relationships, producing, packaging, and delivering it right to you. We even deliver your orders ourselves if you are in downtown Toronto! 🚲
