COME FROM AWAY - @theatrecalgary 2026

A dream come true, that’s what this show was. During “The Prayer” every single show, I would just let myself be Ethan, I’d look around and admire the lights and the set, I’d walk downstage and take in the seats and just think “I did it, I am here” and I’d sing my little heart out. And then I’d cap it off with a candle cheers with @markbellamy14 who’s been someone I’ve looked up to my entire career, and now I get to call my friend.

Getting to make my TC debut after all these years was something I’ll never take for granted, especially with this show. I have so many little connections to Come From Away and it felt like such a full circle moment to perform it on the Maxbell every single night.

Thank you to our amazing leader @jesserobbchoreography , you were right. Thank you for trusting me with this role, and for taking a chance on a young actor who was so desperately trying to get his foot in the door. I can’t properly express how appreciative I am of this entire experience.

To my entire cast and crew and team, our little community, our village, is something I’ll hold with me for such a long long time. I’ve been so lucky to make so many amazing friends, and I know these friendships will stay with me for a long time.

Thank you to every single person who was a part of this journey, I adore you all so much. Till next time. Your Sexy-tary. taken in Theatre Calgary by @ethtayl

“The most beautiful words of love are told in the silence for a look” -Leonard Da Vinci

It’s been a week since we closed this show so now it’s time to continue the love. Oh my wonderful cast of friends. Each and every one of you is now tattooed onto my heart, the feeling of love and appreciation I have for you all is so deep I can hardly put it into words. But I’ll try my best.
@krispalvarez My lovely mama maria, thank you for the hugs and the care and for holding not only the audience, not only Sandro, but Leo too in your beautiful scene. My Valentine, i adore you. Mr Chris Hunt, getting to work with someone like you is a delight and an honour. I’ve looked up to your for quite some time as a pillar of our community but now I know you as a friend and someone who is just kind, humble, and always happy to connect with others. @joel.cochrane12 Thank you for believing in this story so fully and being one of our amazing producers. But more than that, thank you for the laughs and the conversations, and most importantly for our amazing one line scene that contains novels of subtext. @lilithfairyyc literally what an honour to work with such a legend like you, i’ve always been such a fan of your work as a drag artist, but now I am such a fan of your work as an actor and more so as a friend. Truly queer empowerment is your superpower and this show would be nothing without your unabashed queerness. @sydneymay.w My tripod QUEEN. I just adore you, how amazing to have such a ridiculous and lovely friendship form with someone who I have the most toxic onstage relationship with. You are an effing powerhouse and I am forever impressed with your fire and honesty as Clarice. and finally @ericwigston You know. Everything that needs to be said has been said, you know exactly how I feel about you and your Sandro. Thank you for leading this show with so much generosity, charm, love, and ferocity.

How lucky are we? We caught lightning in a bottle and used it to set fire to this beautiful painting of a play.

Oh Leo, how do I even start to talk about you and this show. I am so endlessly honoured to have told this story with such an amazing team of artists, every single person who worked on this show poured so much into it and made this into such a special piece of theatre. I will hold this show so close to my heart for so long, and every single person in this show is part of that.
Special thanks to @Clarepreuss for your leadership, your love, your care, your tears, and for trusting all of us with these characters. @kboni321 thank you for your support and daily cute outfits. @naomiandrezi and @stacihanley for keeping us together and doing the job of a million SMs. @alixandracowman for nerding out with me over choir music and creating such a beautiful world with @bautistamaddie ‘s amazing score. @thebiancanator for being the behind the scenes backbone for all of us. @bricmae for creating such a beautiful safe and fun space to explore the most delicate moments of the show @rebeccatoondesigns for the most sickening costumes i’ve ever worn. adamkostiuktheatre for some of the coolest most kick ass lighting to ever grace a stage, and for the specificity and care you put into every cue @yeon._.studio for creating a space that felt like home for Leo @niclogan4 for letting me get my hands dirty and play with paint and food and whatever i wanted @lex_hilderman for the coolest of lobby installations and also cooler outfits @msliber236 for being the unseen hand that solved a million issues a day. To Dylan, to Adrian and to anyone else on the creative, design, and tech of it all. Thank you thank you thank

We closed Austentatious this weekend and I couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this show and this company. Thank you to everyone who had a part to do with this show, you’re all brilliant on and off stage and I am so excited to work with you all again sometime soon.

Special thanks to @joeslabe and Val Pearson from trusting me with this show, and to @yoga.with.greg for trusting me to be his Dance Captain. I was so nervous on our first day but you all made me feel so valued and wanted.
