Sharing a bit of good news. Looking forward to exhibiting at @gpsgallerysoho for The Soho Open next month.

The Soho Open is a partnership between Soho Housing Association and Parker Harris, celebrating artists from across the UK.

The Soho Open 2026 will be on show at:
Great Pulteney Street (GPS) Gallery, Soho,
from 6 to 22 November 2026.

Private View: Thursday 5 November, 6-8pm.

Every selected work will also be available to buy online from 1 November 2026 to 1 January 2027.

I’ve entered more opens than ever in 2026 and faced a long run of rejections, as most of us do from time to time. I’m grateful to be selected, as I’ve wanted to take part since it started and delivers a much needed boost.

Last weekend to see “Fugitive States” !

A solo exhibition of my new linocut prints exploring identity and the universal self, expertly curated by Studio 1.1 Gallery.

Thank you to @studio1.1_london & @sluice__ for having me!

It has been a pleasure to meet so many visitors during the exhibition and hear your reactions and emotional responses to the work. There have been many questions about the process & techniques behind the work and I’ve enjoyed seeing the connection this makes with the viewer.

Plenty other delights in the area too. Grab a fantastic burger at Dumbo on Bethnal Grn Rd or some coffee & cake at @jolene_bakery on Redchurch St.

Refelections of reflections.

Details of work on show at “Fugitive States”, a solo exhibition of my new prints.

All part of an ongoing body of work exploring identity and the universal self.

If you like that kind of thing, I’ll be in the gallery tomorrow Saturday 20th June all day if you would like to call in and say hello and find out more about the work.

The exhibition is expertly curated by Studio 1.1 Gallery, who have been a great support to me for many years.

It offers a cooling and refreshing break from the heat of the streets.

It’s a great honour to have a new solo exhibition at Studio 1.1 Gallery, which opens this evening!

“Fugitive States” will be a new selection of linocut prints, fresh off the production line. This is the result of many years development and many months preparation and execution.

I’m aiming for a mix of the uplifting and disturbing, in equal measure.

Here’s some more footage of the process behind the prints.

Although they are all made from linocut plates, I have also used some experimental monoprinting techniques in thin layers.

All are printed on Japanese paper (washi), usually Kozuke (kozo)or Awagami Shirakaba.

Each paper provides a subtly different effect and the paper is integral to the process and the finished work as an object.

Here’s some footage of the process behind the finished work for a new solo exhibition at Studio 1.1 Gallery.

No soundtrack but there is a bit of asmr with thenprint pulls!

All are printed on Japanese paper (washi), usually Kozuke (kozo)or Awagami Shirakaba.

Each paper provides a subtly different effect and the paper is integral to the process and the finished work as an object.

The tactility of the ink & paper is an essential quality of the print which is best seen “in real life”, if there is such a thing…

Intricate registration techniques are used to layer the process colours (CYM & RGB) resulting in a pixellated, digital appearance. The patterns are based on jacquard cards, an early form of the digital expressed as analogue in the form of fabric.

Anni Albers has been an important reference point and inspiration in recent years and the weaving process informs this work.

The Derby Print Open begins on Monday and I am exhibiting these three prints at Banks Mill Studios, home of Green Door Print Studio.

Suspicion, 2024

(All A4 sized monoprints/ linocuts)

The event runs from 1-30 June across various venues around Derby.

Thank you to the selectors- I was happy to be involved two years ago and honoured to receive the Smallprint Company Award. Congratulations to this year’s prizewinners.

It’s an opportunity to discover more about the process behind the work, in my case, specifically relief printmaking (and a bit of monoprinting).

My finished prints are often mistaken for screenprints, so it’s good to have the chance to explain the difference.
