Clear, accurate, and accessible communication is essential to helping people understand asylum and migration, particularly in a changing information landscape where misinformation can shape public debate.

Yesterday and today, communication experts from EU+ Member States, @frontex.euagency, @fundamental.rights, eu-LISA, and @unmigration gathered at the EUAA headquarters in Malta for the annual meeting of the EUAA Communication Multipliers’ Network.

ℹ️ Discussions covered national media landscapes, the use of international protection data in public communication, and ways to address disinformation on migration. Participants also explored how emerging technologies, including AI, are shaping digital communication.

By exchanging experiences and sharing good practices, network members contribute to clearer, more informed public communication on asylum and migration across Europe. taken in Malta by @euasylumagency

Cooperation and the exchange of experiences and good practices can contribute to enhance the protection of the rights of asylum-seeking children, with a focus on their needs and best interests.

Since 2014, the EUAA and Türkiye’s Presidency of Migration Management (PMM) have developed a strong partnership implemented through successive Roadmaps for Cooperation. This cooperation continues under the present EUAA–Türkiye Roadmap (2025–2028), where we support capacity development across asylum, reception and vulnerabilities, temporary protection and resettlement.

Over two days in Nevşehir, Cappadocia, the EUAA welcomed colleagues from PMM, Provincial Directorates of Migration Management (PDMM), EU+ Countries, for a workshop on the protection of the rights of asylum-seeking children. Participants exchanged practical experiences on identifying children’s needs, best interests, guardianship, age assessment, referral and follow-up, and child-friendly communication. taken in Cappadocia / Türkiye by @euasylumagency

The EUAA has published a new Country Guidance on Pakistan. Based on the latest Country-of-Origin Information (COI), the guidance provides a joint assessment by EU+ countries of the international protection needs of Pakistani applicants and aims to enable greater convergence in asylum decisions.

Key points:
🔷 The guidance examines the international protection needs of the most common profiles in the caseload of EU+ countries, including persons perceived to be opposing the government, ethnic and religious minorities, women and children, and individuals involved in polio vaccination campaigns.
🔷 Critical journalists and media workers, individuals facing blasphemy charges, persons with diverse SOGIESC, as well as certain political and human rights activists face a heightened risk of persecution.
🔷 Due to confrontations between the Pakistani armed forces and insurgent groups, indiscriminate violence takes place in Balochistan and South and West Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however, not at a high level.
🔷 Internal Protection Alternative in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi may be applicable depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant.

Endorsed by the Agency’s Management Board, the guidance is intended to support decision-makers in assessing asylum applications lodged by Pakistani nationals. This will bring the number of countries covered by EUAA Country Guidance to eight. by @euasylumagency
