Healing Music

My speech about my work using music to heal trauma at the Lambeth Kinship Care Week Conference went very well. My focus was Bosnia and Sudan. A Zimbabwean sister responded "Awethu!" when I raised my fist and chanted "Amandla" in closing. Then a Sudanese kinship care consultant came to me afterwards to thank me and invite me to do a workshop for her staff and the families she works with. by @eugeneskeef

I was so happy walking in the rain, carrying a heavy bag of boxes of the first batch of my published book, The Mentor. These are copies for me to sign and send to the first twenty mentees who have generously contributed chapters to the celebration of our conjoined lives. by @eugeneskeef

My phenomenal mentees, cellist @abelselaocoe and singer @varijashree , with percussionist @pramathkiran . My joy is beyond words.

Varijashree sent me this historic photo on WhatsApp this morning with the following message: “I met Abel, your son! We are sending you love from USA. He spoke so fondly of you with respect. Every time I meet someone that has learnt from you or been mentored by you, it fills my heart with joy and gratitude that I know you.” by @eugeneskeef
