TRANSPARENCY POST: We found out about our son the same week we learned that Nana had passed. My whole world was both made whole and shattered within days of each other. Navigating two profound and contrasting life events at once left me overwhelmed. I was exhausted, unsure how to process it all. How could my heart break and be filled with love at the same time? How could I carry both unbearable grief and immeasurable joy in the same breath?

At the time, I didn’t know it was possible to celebrate the life I was creating while mourning the life I had lost. So I chose to grieve. I carried my sorrow quietly, letting it settle deep within me. Though everything around me kept moving, everything within me stood still. The world didn’t pause for my pain, but I felt frozen in it.

But God. In the midst of sorrow and joy, of loss and new beginnings, He was/is my constant. When the weight of grief felt unbearable and my emotions threatened to consume me, He stepped in with His unshakable presence and tender care.

He knew the depths of my pain and the fullness of my joy. He saw my broken heart and the life I carried within. He walked with me through the valley of loss, and He rejoiced with me in the promise of new life. He never asked me to choose between grief and gratitude. He held space for both.

He reminded me that even when life feels broken, His plans are still good. He is a God of restoration, holding me as I grieve and guiding me as we prepare to welcome this precious gift of life.

So I leaned into Him. I cried out to Him. I let Him be my strength when I felt weak, my comfort when grief overwhelmed me, and my joy when the weight felt too much. He is the God who sees, the God who holds, the God who restores. In Him, there is hope—even in the hardest of seasons.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

Our birthdays both fall in June, so what better way to celebrate than with a little day getaway?

The plan was to drive to Canmore, spend a few hours at @everwildcanmore @stayeverwild, then head to Calgary for dinner at @hawthorndiningroom before making the drive back to Edmonton, all before the sun set for the day.

Making and eating food from different countries has easily become one of our favourite family traditions. This time around we enjoyed a Cuban-inspired dinner made by my husband. He’s in his chef era and I’m not mad about it! It was such a special evening and a sweet reminder that God is good, even in the simple things.

It’s a multifunctional moisturizer that can be used as a moisturizer, make up base, mask and more. I loved it for its moisturizing properties and nourishing ingredients like shea butter + aloe vera. Not my favorite as a makeup remover but it definitely left my skin feeling smooth and glowy!

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, mother figure, and every woman praying and hoping for a child of her own. 🤍

Motherhood is beautiful, stretching, exhausting, healing, overwhelming, and deeply rewarding all at once. There are hard days, quiet sacrifices, and moments where you wonder if you’re doing enough but somehow, God gives you the grace to keep showing up with love.

There’s something so emotional about watching little pieces of yourself grow in a completely different body. Seeing your mannerisms, your smile, your softness, your strength reflected back through tiny humans is a kind of love that’s difficult to fully put into words. It’s one of the clearest reminders to me of God’s goodness, faithfulness and creativity.

Eunice @eunyowusu and I got together to answer a few questions about motherhood, but honestly, so much of this journey is felt more than it can ever truly be explained. We both genuinely love being moms, not because it’s always easy, but because of how deeply it changes you, softens you, and shows you God’s kindness & grace.

To the women in waiting, the women believing, and the women praying for children of their own, I pray your heart never loses hope. God sees your desire, hears your prayers, and your story is still being written. 🤍
