Every girl needs a bestie like @uaarrd 💁🏻‍♀️ Nothing says loyalty like a friend willing to collab with you and face the rats at 3am in the MTA. Eduardo and I met six months before our freshman year of college in a Parsons admitted students GroupMe (proof that something good can come from a 500+ person group text 😂). Since screaming at each other the minute we got to meet in-person, we’ve been close, and nothing short of chaotic Usually, the subway in New York waits for no one, but at the end of the 6, trains will wait for several minutes to get them back on schedule. I GOT SCAMMED BY A PIZZA. Three years of living in NYC and traveling the world, and I managed to avoid getting scammed before being taken out by a fake pizza. Originally, this caption was going to mention how this is a “New York style picnic,” just like how we have “New York style pizza!” Obviously, when thinking through which pizza to use as a prop, my mind instantly went to the most iconic of NYC pizzerias — @joespizzanyc. I went on @ubereats to order the pizza {because we LOVE contactless delivery to avoid catching a virus} and ordered the pizza. When it arrived, I thought it was strange that the pizza wasn’t in the Joe’s box, and didn’t taste like how I remembered Joe’s to taste, but I didn’t think twice about it. Lo and behold, after posting the pizza on my story, Joe’s reached out explaining that there’s a FAKE Joe’s Pizza on 8th Ave in Manhattan in Uber Eats that tricked me! This image is already old news. Not only are the papers from December 2020, but I posted it yesterday not realizing I had accidentally forgotten to edit out my phone. 🤦🏻‍♀️ c’est la freaking vie Admittedly, I’m a bit of a nerd for the news. I’ve been wanting to play with newspapers in an image for a long time, but the concept for this shoot didn’t fully come into fruition until I came across a @michaeljean.co image I saved a while ago, and this oh-so-comfortable, sustainable velvet look from @maisondepapillon. The wind decided it was not going to be in my favor (but when is it ever in New York, she’s temperamental), and my roof was also wet, as it was raining on and off that day. I was eventually forced off the roof by the rain and just had to trust I got the shot! Newspapers kept falling off the wall and blowing into puddles, which eliminated half my papers and made me get a bit creative with editing. Note to self: don’t use dollar masking tape when trying to attach newspaper to the roof, it’s on clearance for a reason. Thinking about all the pasta-bilities 26 will hold 🍝 @revolve #revolveambassador It wasn’t just my birthday recently but the 12th anniversary of Eva Darling! It’s crazy to think that this little website is now almost as old as I was when I started it (2 more years!). Last year was one of the most challenging both for my website and in my personal life, thanks to many search algorithm changes, social platform shifts, and a few major life changes. If year 25 taught me anything, it was how incredible the people in my life are and tenacity. $35 and many shedded sequins later, an @edc_lasvegas outfit was made! Originally last year I planned on just making one outfit after I had tons of last minute fabric orders cancelled due to lack of inventory. Instead, I pivoted last minute after tracking down this embroidered mesh in the Garment District! Traded the city that never sleeps for this sleepy lantern town 🏮 Vietnam has been the top destination on my travel wishlist since well, birth, and back in December, I finally got a chance to go 🙌🏻 This town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, best known for its many, many silk lanterns and density of high quality, inexpensive tailors, thanks to its history as a major Silk Road Trading Port It’s been on my travel list for years and although it’s beyond touristy, which is usually not my thing, I really really loved it.
