Το Mountains είναι ένας σωματικός στοχασμός πάνω στον χρόνο, τη μνήμη και την ύπαρξη, όπου το σώμα λειτουργεί ταυτόχρονα ως ερμηνευτής και ως ζωντανό αρχείο εμπειριών.
Χωρίς τη χρήση λόγου, η κίνηση γίνεται μια ποιητική γλώσσα μέσα από την οποία η μνήμη θυμάται, σβήνεται και επαναδιαμορφώνεται.

Το έργο παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στο Biennale Teatro, στο πλαίσιο της Biennale της Βενετίας το 2025.

Mountains is a physical reflection on time, memory, and existence, where the body functions both as performer and as a living archive of experience. Without the use of text, movement becomes a poetic language through which memory is recalled, erased, and reshaped.

The performance is part of Systema - For the Greek Performing Arts, a collaboration between three of the country’s leading cultural institutions, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Theatre and the Kalamata International Dance Festival.

💫 Biennale College Teatro 2026
A new project introduced by Willem Dafoe ✨ 12 artists between the ages 22-29, arrived from 10 different countries around the world, to participate in a 4 week Residency @labiennale.

The project consists of a four-weeks residency, led by four mentors (one per week). Evangelia & Mary Rantou | Willem Dafoe | Simon McBurney | Silvia Costa.

As Willem Dafoe states, this is a unique opportunity in which the only promise is the desire to rise above: above methods, expectations, rigid structures and prejudice.

What a pleasure to be back @labiennale ,this time within the framework of Biennale College Teatro, on a new programme introduced by Willem Dafoe.

Grateful for the outstanding team whose care, professionalism, and commitment create a truly nurturing environment for artists to develop, collaborate, and take creative risks!

A special thank you to this remarkable group of artists. Working together in the studio was a constant source of inspiration, curiosity, and joy. We are deeply grateful for the generosity, dedication, and creative spirit each of you brought to the process 🤍

🌻 I’ve had a long journey as a professional artist so far, always feeling lucky and privileged. Along the way, I met extraordinary people, brilliant minds, and collaborators who inspired me deeply. I also experienced partnerships that challenged me in ways I could not fully understand at the time.

Time has a way of revealing things. It took me years to understand that talent, vision, and success are not the qualities I admire most. What stays with me is how people treat others when nobody is watching. Whether they respect the people who stand beside them, they protect or diminish them. Whether they lead with generosity or with ego.

Because no matter how great the work, how celebrated the career, or how brilliant the mind, without generosity, respect, and genuine care for others, I simply couldn’t care less.

Some distances take time to understand, but eventually they reveal themselves as acts of self-respect. And today, more than ever, I feel grateful to have left that kind of environment behind and choose to be with those who allow me to keep growing and thriving. 😉 by @eva_rantou

✨Afterglow.. We are deeply grateful for the warm and attentive reception “Mountains” received in Biennale Teatro 2025, under the Artistic Direction of Willem Dafoe. We sincerely thank @labiennale for the impeccable collaboration, all the people involved to make us feel like home and did their best to support & present our work in Arsenale. A warm thank you also to @neongreece for believing in “Mountains” and supporting the creation!
