The past week has been a heavy one. Bali faced one of the worst floods in years, and many families lost their homes, belongings, and even their livelihoods.

Together with friends, we opened a donation and went on the ground to distribute your contributions. From food, mattresses, medicine, to clothes, every single item made a difference. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared kindness in any form. The smiles and relief we saw would not have been possible without you🥹🫶🏻

But beyond immediate relief, this disaster also reminds us of a bigger issue: waste management and land conversion. Piles of trash clogging rivers, shrinking green spaces, and poor drainage are not just problems after the rain, they are root causes that turn one day of heavy rain into a disaster. If we want to prevent this from happening again, we need to take waste and spatial planning seriously.

For now, the priority is helping families recover. But moving forward, let’s also reflect on how we can reduce waste, support sustainable systems, and protect the Bali we all love🙏🏼🤍 taken in Bali, Indonesia by @evakandra

Balinese wisdom reminds us, there is no "over there" in a watershed.

As flooding inundates the island, communities are stepping up to support eachother.

Since Sept 10, neighbors reported flood conditions on PetaBencana.id, helping guide evacuations, reroute traffic, and support first responders.

Over the past few days, we’ve been on the ground distributing your donations. Yesterday, we visited 4 areas in Denpasar that were heavily affected by the flood. Many families are now getting sick - suffering from fevers, diarrhea, skin rashes, and even foot infections. We need to take immediate action to prevent this from spreading and getting worse.

Along with distributing donations, we’re also raising awareness about waste management, because this is one of the root causes of the flood.

Beberapa hari terakhir kami turun langsung untuk menemui korban banjir dan menyalurkan donasi dari kalian. Kemarin, kami mengunjungi 4 titik di Denpasar yang terdampak banjir cukup parah. Banyak keluarga sekarang jatuh sakit - demam, diare, gatal-gatal, hingga infeksi di kaki. Kita perlu segera mengambil tindakan agar tidak semakin menyebar dan memburuk.

selain menyalurkan donasi, kami juga mengedukasi soal pengelolaan sampah, karena ini adalah salah satu penyebab utama banjir.

Heavy rain is natural. Flooding like this is not.
It is the result of poor urban planning, weak waste management, and a lack of long-term strategy.

Governor, when you told us to “solve it ourselves” when asked about solution after TPA Suwung was closed without any alternative solution, you dismissed the very people you serve. Waste, drainage, and zoning are not problems for citizens to fix. They are your responsibility.

This is our call: Bali needs leadership. Bali needs solutions. Bali deserves better.

BALI IS NOT FOR SALE 🛑

Words that I've been wanting to speak for a long time.

The gentrification of Bali, with unhalting construction of villas, beach clubs and resorts, many due to lack of governmental regulations and massive corruption, is becoming increasingly hard to witness.

In only 5 years, Ubud and other touristic areas in Bali have experienced massive shifts that leave me worried for the Bali we will leave behind for the children & grandchildren of this island.

May we protect & preserve the Bali we have now.

This is Melasti. A ritual of purification, a cleansing of the body, mind, spirit, and the universe before Nyepi, the Balinese New Year. But it’s more than that... It’s a homecoming. A return to where everything begins - water, Agama Tirta. From the sacred springs, through the rivers, to meet the ocean. Something we may fear for it’s power is bigger than us. But it’s medicine lays in our surrender.

4 Love me wild, love me tender 4

Work for @maximovajewelry shot by @susanbuth
Starting to share on here more of my creative and
modeling side.

I loved working on this project. It was the first
time that I got to do a prayer and drop in
meditation prior to shooting with @susanbuth & I to set
the space right; to acknowledge the Land, and
the custodians seen & unseen and to work
alongside each other in celebrating creativity and
channeling art.

Acknowledging our privilege & that this is work
and we will profit off of indigenous beauty but
how can we be in right relationship with that
exchange that is mutually respectful for both us
and spirit of the Land.

And so this series of images is what was birthed.
Thank you for the clients trust in us. I am
continually in service to beauty, integrity and the
