A cool flathead catfish I caught on a jig while practicing during a tournament. It thumped it so hard. Such a fun catch.

I recently made it out to Alaska with @jesscakes13 and her parents. It was a trip I have been wanting to go on my entire life and it was memorable. I can’t wait to go back one day.

I finished my last open a month ago on the Upper Mississippi in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This open qualified me for the elite qualifiers. After a lot of thought I decided that I am not going to be fishing the EQs again this year. Tournament fishing has been one of the most fulfilling things that I have experienced in my life.

I will be spending the rest of the year traveling to different states with my girlfriend and join her as she works to fish in all 50 states.

I wrapped up my 3rd open this year with the best finish I’ve had. I placed 16th out of around 190 boats. This one I am super proud of because Kentucky lake has always been a lake I’ve struggled with identifying patterns. This just goes to show that consistency, growth, and perseverance is the key to success in tournament bass fishing.

My last Open at Grand Lake, Oklahoma was humbling. I ended up in 16th place after fishing the first day. The second day I ended up getting in my head because I did not have as much time and ended up rushing which landed me in 78th.

It is just another learning opportunity that I will take to the next tournament.
