We’re excited to announce this historic victory for San Diego!

Today, the county UNANIMOUSLY voted in favor of implementing the San Diego County Film Initiative.
We’d like to thank Supervisor Paloma Aguirre for championing this measure. Years of advocacy between stakeholders, labor, and the San Diego community has made this possible.

It isn’t JUST about film, but rather creating a permanent infrastructure to secure jobs for our San Diego talent and businesses. So many have had to drive long distances or leave town in order to secure work, but thanks to amazing leadership and years of advocacy, we’re prioritizing the talent already HERE in San Diego!

There’s certainly a lot of work ahead of us. This is just the start…but a great start!

Thanks to everyone who’s stood along side us. 🎬

I wanted to take an opportunity to share the good news! The San Diego County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted in favor of advancing the SDC Film Initiative!

It’s a measure that the San Diego Film Commission Foundation initially developed, and along with the generous help of dedicated supporters and film professionals, we’ve worked hard to get past the finish line.

It looks as though progress is being made, and at record speeds, but we’re still not totally there yet. The board has approved $500,000 to set up a film office, and they’d like to hear from local Film Industry stakeholders in order to decide how best to serve San Diego.

In the links section is a quick survey that I’d appreciate you taking a brief moment to fill out.
