From Roland-Garros to documentary productions — how @nathan_henneton_dop uses RayFlex to shape light.

For the 2026 Roland-Garros tournament, Paris-based Director of Photography Nathan Henneton designed the lighting for the FFT official post-match interview position in the mixed zone beneath Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Working in an extremely compact 2 m × 1.2 m interview area, Nathan used the RayFlex Multi-Mirror Reflector to introduce texture and depth into the background.

The RayFlex allowed him to project broken light across a wide area — an effect that would otherwise have required several additional spotlights, impossible to rig in such a confined space.

Nathan shared:
“The RayFlex allowed me to break up the light and create subtle pockets of highlights across the background. It added depth and made the interview space feel much larger than it actually was.”

Beyond Roland-Garros, Nathan has integrated RayFlex into his regular cinematography workflow, using it across documentary and other professional productions.

“I now use it on almost every documentary shoot, from Amaran 360C to Nanlux Evoke 2400B.”

The cinematographer @antwoni wanted to keep the natural lakeside sunlight as part of the look, while giving the can a bit more shape and control.

We used an @eversirius Multimirror to place the sunlight where we needed it, with a white board on the opposite side adding a small kicker.

Nothing complicated — just a useful way to work when the real sun already looks good and you want a bit more direction without losing the natural feel.

Benedict Cumberbatch, CBE, reading to camera ahead of @bbcsport England v Argentina World Cup coverage. Powerful, still, and beautifully lit.

Creating beautiful images is not always about having a large setup. George shows how a few small lights and carefully placed RayFlex reflectors can transform even an ordinary space:

Since I discovered these reflectors, they have become one of my favorite tools for shaping light and creating unique atmospheres, even in the most ordinary white-painted apartments. Our location was too high to use a cherry picker, but with a few small lights and carefully placed reflectors, we were still able to create images with the mood we were looking for.
