Hollywood Burbank Airport’s new terminal is open. Come inside its $1.3 billion transformation. ✈️

We walked through the new facility with Pasadena Councilmember Tyron Hampton, President of the Burbank Glendale Pasadena Airport Authority, to hear the story behind one of Southern California’s biggest airport projects.

In this three minute tour, Hampton takes us through the airport’s history, the vision behind the replacement terminal, and what this next chapter means for the people who fly here.

Opened October 13, 2026, the new Hollywood Burbank Airport terminal features 355,000 square feet, 14 gates, expanded security screening areas, and upgraded passenger amenities. The project also addresses longstanding runway safety and accessibility needs.

And yes, Pasadena has a direct connection. Our city jointly owns and operates the airport with Burbank and Glendale, making this a local story for Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley travelers, too. 🌹

Walk with us, take a look around, and hear the history behind what you’re seeing.

What’s your favorite memory of flying out of Burbank? Share this with your travel partner before your next trip. ✈️

Hollywood Burbank Airport gets a new terminal. Pasadena still asks: “You’re not landing at LAX, right?” ✈️

The new Hollywood Burbank Airport terminal opens October 13, 2026. For travelers heading home to Pasadena, California, that’s a fresh backdrop for a familiar airport preference.

Around here, picking someone up from Burbank is a favor. Picking them up from LAX belongs in the wedding vows.

New terminal. Same three beautiful words: “I booked Burbank.”

Send this to your airport pickup person.

How much extra would you pay to fly into Burbank instead of LAX?

For families looking for educational resources and community events in Pasadena, the expo offered everything from college and career pathways to wellness support, workshops and family resources all under one roof.

Charles White Park in Altadena is entering a new chapter after the Eaton Fire. 🌳

On October 3, the community gathered at 77 Mountain View St. to break ground on the reimagined five-acre park, where two playgrounds and restrooms were destroyed in the 2025 Eaton Fire. The ceremony included the planting of a 10,000-pound Coast Live Oak, a powerful sight for a community still rebuilding.

The $10.5 million transformation will bring a new recreation center, splash pad, lighted pickleball courts, walking paths, outdoor fitness areas, public art and an inclusive nature-based playground designed by Disney Imagineers.

Named for renowned artist and longtime Altadena resident Charles White, the park’s next chapter will continue honoring his legacy while creating a place for families, creativity and community connection. Ian White, Charles White’s son, joined local leaders and neighbors for the groundbreaking.

What are you most excited to see when Charles White Park reopens?

Pasadena Chalk Festival brings art, community, and creativity to the streets of Pasadena. 🎨🌹

There’s something different about seeing the artwork up close — and hearing directly from the people who help make this Pasadena tradition what it is.

We stopped by the Pasadena Chalk Festival to take in the incredible work and talk with one of the people behind the experience. His message is worth hearing all the way through.

And this piece caught our attention: a colorful tribute to Pasadena, Route 66, and the City of Roses. 🌹

This is what we love about covering Pasadena — meeting the people behind the events, businesses, art, and traditions that give the city its character.
