Information they say is power, while at the SAMI clinic on Saturday, I tested for genotype status of our new beneficiaries and one of the person I tested didnt know her sickle cell variant type, they just knew the child was sickle cell, after the test I realized she is SC and not SS and her grandma was surprised, her grand ma didnt know the difference and I had to begin to educate her in Yoruba about SC been another form of sickle cell. It’s important to know and not assume these things, anyways don’t forget to share , like & comment

Having sickle cell doesn’t negate you from enjoying good friends. There’s beauty in community, you can ask around , no one ever really did life alone, we all need our person to go through life so open up your heart today and be open to meeting your person be it in a platonic relationship or a romantic relationship.

Pain is not the only experience warriors go through and that is why sometimes there a lot of unshared ugly experiences. Sickle cell can affect everything and anything and that’s why we keep preaching the importance of genotype awareness so as to break the sickle cycle.
