OPEN CALL: ARE YOU STILL HERE?

The third and final chapter of WANDER / WONDER will be a one-day exhibition exploring presence and stillness in the 'in between' inside the Old Waiting Room next to Peckham Rye Station.

I’m inviting artists, makers, creators, photographers, designers, writers, and creative practitioners to contribute a miniature still life in response to the theme.

Your piece might explore: waiting, stillness, attention, being present, feeling presence, or the liminal space between where you've been and where you’re going.

The work can be made from any material and should fit within a 50 cm x 50 cm space. Think of it as a miniature world, altar, arrangement, sculpture, assemblage, poem, object, or observation.

Each work will be displayed on its own plywood board cut in varying shapes. Together, these responses will form a collective landscape of stillness.

To take part, send a short expression of interest and a few examples of your work to everythingyouseehere.co@gmail.com.

Deadline: 30 June 2026

Thank you to all the lovely people who came out on a boiling bank holiday to see What Are You Waiting For - the second immersive exhibition in the WANDER / WONDER series inside the Old Waiting Room at Peckham Rye station.

I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the sublime @athenapaginton who created a playful collection of sculptural chairs out of single use plastic and recycled materials.

The third and final in the series will be Sunday July 26. Opening it up to a range of artists and will be posting a call for art soon 💫💫💫 by @everythingyouseehere

WANDER / WONDER began with this painting. A loading circle. The kind we stare at every day waiting for something to happen.

Back in January, I was in a slightly catatonic state. I had that insatiable urge to create but felt stuck. One morning, I found this beautiful handmade wooden frame abandoned on the street. Without a plan, I painted it and covered the edges in clay like slowly melting ice, mirroring my own feeling of stagnation. I added a loading circle without knowing why.

But the more I worked and reworked it, the more something started to unlock.

It made me think about waiting differently. What if waiting isn’t passive? What if it’s actually a period to wander before the wonder. To drift, process, notice, unravel, reconnect. A subconscious state where thoughts, memories, fears, desires, and possibilities quietly rearrange themselves before action becomes possible.

Creation isn’t always conscious.

The project grew from that idea that what might feel like waiting is not empty or wasted time, but a hidden state of transformation.

Please join me and @athenapaginton for our upcoming playful exhibition What Are You Waiting For?

What Are You Waiting For?

A one-day immersive poem and collective art making experience featuring artist @athenapaginton in collaboration with Everything You See Here 💫

We spend so much of our lives waiting. Holding our breath in between becoming the next version of ourselves, waiting for permission to begin, for the fear to pass, for the moment to feel right. Like the time in between doesn’t count.

But what if waiting isn’t procrastination or stagnancy or delay but incubation? The quiet before something becomes possible.

We intentionally scheduled tomorrow’s sound experience - Where Are You Going? - to be on a Sunday between the Spring Equinox and the April 1 full moon.

The Pink Moon is associated with renewal, growth, and the arrival of spring, named after early-blooming pink wildflowers. It represents a time for setting intentions, emotional healing, and new beginnings.

When you let go of what’s holding you back, where will you go?

Limited tickets still available at the link in bio.

Where Are You Going?
A one-hour immersive sound journey grounded in intention and direction

We spend so much of our lives waiting. Holding our breath in between becoming the next version of ourselves, waiting for permission to begin, for the fear to pass, for the moment to feel right. Like the time in between doesn’t count.

But what if waiting isn’t procrastination or stagnancy or delay but incubation? The quiet before something becomes possible.

Part of the Wander / Wonder series at the Old Waiting Room in Peckham, this gathering is an invitation to activate your time. To transform waiting into wonder.

We’ll move through three moments together:

Release: Before you can move towards where you’re going, it helps to know what you’re no longer taking with you.

Receive: You are held in sound. Nothing is required of you here except to be present.

Intent: As you return, you’re invited to name where you’re going. A single word for the version of yourself you’re moving towards.

The experience last approximately 1 hour and includes a 20 minute seated sound journey.

Tickets now available at the link in bio.

**UPDATE** The May 31 experience has been moved to Sunday May 24.

WANDER / WONDER: A Waiting Room Reimagined

The Waiting Room: An ephemeral utopia of hope and possibility, of going places. Or an agonizing purgatory of stagnancy and delay. A time with value, or an empty void, depending on your perspective.

That in-betweenness of waiting is a uniquely human experience where we often hold our breath in transit, before we move on. Like the time doesn’t count.

What if we made more of waiting time? What if waiting wasn’t procrastination or fear of failure or creative block. What if it was incubation, preparation, even hibernation?

There is a grand old Victorian waiting room adjacent to Peckham Rye station. A door to the left of the station entrance opens to a hidden staircase leading up to reveal vaulted ceilings, peeling paint and forgotten time. It’s like slipping into another dimension.

I first discovered it when it reopened to the public with Sarah Sze’s Waiting Room installation produced by @artangel_ldn . I went back three times. It was the kind of experience that changes the shape of time, slowing it down and speeding it up all at once.

The Old Waiting Room had been shut away, dormant since the 60s. @maverickprojects have now opened it up for hire and I’m thrilled to announce a series of one-day exhibitions that will transform the Waiting Room into a space of wonder based on three questions:

Where are you going?
What are you waiting for?
Are you still here?

More details to follow. by @everythingyouseehere
