Merci beaucoup Toulouse! What a beautiful way to open this year’s Rio Loco festival @rio_loco 🇫🇷

The 2026 festival theme, “Islands of the World”, could not have resonated more deeply with the journey of Small Island Big Song. We were honoured to be invited to headline the opening night.

After the concert, we received this message from an audience, Chris:

“I had the immense pleasure of attending your show last night at the Rio Loco festival in Toulouse. I was captivated by your performance, your individual talents, and the unique beauty of each and every one of you, worthy representatives of our different continents, worthy representatives of humanity, and ultimately, of a single Ocean. This is how I see art: What more beautiful message than that of weaving together so magnificently?“

Thank you to everyone who sang, danced, listened, and shared this moment with us! And thank you to the festival team for treating us so generously with unlimited good cheese 🧀😍

It’s been over a month since my Mum passed and I still don’t know what to say. This was the last time my Mum came to watch me perform (Brisfest Powerhouse Sep-2025). I dedicated this song to her and remember feeling like it was just the 2 of us in the venue. She cried through out this whole song. Little did I know that this would be the last time I’d sing and play for her. Happy Mother’s Day in Heaven Mummy. I will carry you in my heart and sing for you like I did on this stage and every stage to come. #TakeMeToYourRiver #GoneButNeverForgotten #ContinueToWatchOverUs by @evey_nikz
