Some invitations are worth waiting for. When we first performed in Italy during the 2022 Italian Capital of Culture celebrations, Enrico told us, “One day, you have to come to Pennabilli.” He kept inviting us year after year, and after four years of persistence, we finally made it…. just in time for the 30th anniversary of this extraordinary festival @artistiinpiazza Nestled in the medieval hilltop town of Pennabilli, overlooking one of the most breathtaking valleys in Italy, the festival is unlike any other. For five days, music, theatre, poetry and art filled every corner of the old town, transforming its streets, courtyards and piazzas into living stages. Beyond our One Ocean headline performance, every artist also shared their own solo performances throughout the festival, creating countless opportunities to connect, collaborate and celebrate the unique cultures each of us brought. We were also honoured to present a screening of our documentary at the local cinema, followed by a heartfelt Q&A by our co-founder and filmmaker Tim as well as Sammy & Yoyo from the film, where conversations continued long after the credits rolled. Thank you, Enrico, for believing in this project and for never giving up on bringing us here. Now we understand why. Until next time, Pennabilli ❤️

Merci beaucoup Toulouse! What a beautiful way to open this year’s Rio Loco festival @rio_loco 🇫🇷 The 2026 festival theme, “Islands of the World”, could not have resonated more deeply with the journey of Small Island Big Song. We were honoured to be invited to headline the opening night. After the concert, we received this message from an audience, Chris: “I had the immense pleasure of attending your show last night at the Rio Loco festival in Toulouse. I was captivated by your performance, your individual talents, and the unique beauty of each and every one of you, worthy representatives of our different continents, worthy representatives of humanity, and ultimately, of a single Ocean. This is how I see art: What more beautiful message than that of weaving together so magnificently?“ Thank you to everyone who sang, danced, listened, and shared this moment with us! And thank you to the festival team for treating us so generously with unlimited good cheese 🧀😍 Small Island Big Song featuring @abus.tanapima Taiwan @evey_nikz Samoa Sammy, Madagascar @josephlesfreres Mauritius @yoyotuki Rapa Nui produced by BaoBao Chen, Taiwan Tim Cole, Australia

Hoy la segunda y fecha final en Noruega, en una sala de conciertos de el elegante Grieghallen! ‘Kia Hio’ - ‘Fuerza’ Yoyo Tuki - Rapa Nui / Chile @abus.tanapima - Taiwan @mathieu.joseph.96 - Mauritius @evey_nikz - Samoa Sammy - Masagascar 🗿 🎶 🐚 🌴 ⚡️✨

Day 1 of our EU tour in Bergen, Norway 🇳🇴 After some very looooong journeys, everyone has finally arrived safely from Taiwan, Madagascar, Mauritius, Australia, and Rapa Nui (Easter Island)! So far away, yet together again 💙 This tour feels particularly personal for us. We celebrate the birth of Emlyn’s daughter (we miss you this time, @emlyn_marimutu !), and the growth of little Ellie, BaoBao and Tim’s daughter, who is now one. We also reflect on the recent losses experienced by some members of our ensemble and their families. Through listening and sharing, a new song was born. A reminder that music often emerges from moments when words alone are not enough. Here we go again, bringing the concert version of One Ocean to festivals across Norway, France, and Italy. We hope to see you along the way!
