Thank you to @itvmeridian for coming down to do a segment on our “Rise Up Reading” camp this Easter break.

We ran a 3 day camp for teenagers funded by @readingcouncil - combining movement , mind and music. It was brilliant fun and made some really special memories in the process. It’s important to us that everybody has access to experiences like this - and this camp was a perfect chance for us to keep the teenagers off the streets, off their phones and connect through creativity!

Thank you to n3wangle for coming down and doing some excellent fitness and boxing workshops, and to our brilliant mentors and guest speakers - local entrepreneurs @peter.sj.watts & @jojo_bkry for coming to do an inspiring talk about their journeys.

Also special thanks to @readingrfc for hosting us and creating an awesome space for us to do all of our activities, and @donningtondeli for providing catering and amazing sandwiches and cakes for the kids! The local community really came out to support!

MILK MY WORDS IS BACK!

Join us on Sunday 24th May Bank Holiday weekend at the iconic @milkbarreading for a day of creativity, wellness, live music, poetry, connection and serious vibes.

From 3-5pm, we’ll be hosting a free Evoke creativity and wellness workshop, with a specially curated Oatly menu. Spaces are limited, so grab your ticket early.

Then from 5pm till late, the energy shifts into an evening of live music and poetry with @cambloomfield, @iam.aydarose, Reading’s own @aceclvrk, plus a DJ set from the amazing @teakyz.

There are two separate ticket links - one for the workshop and one for the live event - so make sure you book the right one before they’re gone.

Looking back at Rise Up Reading camp this Easter and remembering just how special that week was❤️

Making music, writing songs, boxing, laughing and watching friendships form. Young people who arrived barely knowing anyone were recording songs together and cheering each other on by the end. Getting to be part of that was a real privilege.

This was one of the most fulfilling projects we’ve ever done with Evoke. The messages from parents afterwards meant so much to us, and we even ended up on ITV News!

A massive thank you to @readingrfc for giving us the space, Reading Borough Council for funding the camp, and the amazing local entrepreneurs who came down to share their stories and show the young people what’s possible @jojo_waterman_ @peter.sj.watts . And of course to @itsconcz for capturing these memories so beautifully 🙏

Big love to n3wangle, @premisesstudios , @donningtondeli and our whole evoke team for helping make it happen.

Most of all, thank you to the young people who brought their ideas, personalities and creativity, and the families who trusted us with them. You made this what it was.

We’re bringing our Evoke workshop to Aethos Shoreditch.

We’re often asked when our next public session is, and the truth is most of our workshops are private bookings…. but our friends at @aethoslondon Shoreditch have opened the doors for us to welcome more of you in.

Join us for an immersive 2-hour creative writing and wellbeing workshop, led by award-winning poets and songwriters.

Expect a relaxed, welcoming space where creativity meets mindfulness. With guided writing, reflection, connection and practical tools to help you tap into your imagination and express what’s been sitting beneath the surface!

Whether you write all the time or haven’t picked up a pen in years, this space is for you.

Our final week at The Exchange was an emotional one.

This week, we wrote letters from our future selves - imagining ourselves at 100 years old and writing back to who we are today.

Through the process, we explored what we’re grateful for now, the things we might be taking for granted, and the worries that may not matter as much as we think they do. And we celebrated TRIPLE OG Linda’s birthday - who brought her children and grandchild along 🥹❤️

It was a really moving way to close the series.

Across the past 6 weeks, we’ve built such a beautiful community in this space. Strangers became friends. People opened up, shared, listened, laughed, cried and created together in a way that has really touched and inspired us.

We feel so grateful to everyone who came, trusted the process and shared something of themselves.

Huge thank you to our new friends - the team at@theexchangew9 for having us, and to @northpaddingtonfoodbank for the important work they do in the community. It has been an honour to work alongside you.

Thank you to @chrissieranx and @caribbeankitchenfood for the beautiful food, @af_life25 for facilitating the breathwork and last but not least to our brother @itsconcz for capturing the event so perfectly, and to everyone who showed up across the series.

Week 5 at @theexchangew9 with @northpaddingtonfoodbank !

This week, we focused on the concept of glimmers - those small moments in the day where we feel truly present, hopeful, joyful or peaceful.

A laugh. A smell. A song. A conversation. A tiny moment of light that reminds you life is still moving with you, not against you.

We believe that when you start paying attention to the glimmers, you begin to notice more of them.

It was a beautiful evening full of laughter, creative spark and friendships being built after an amazing 5 weeks together.

Huge thank you to @bantscooking2.0 from @stop._and_.taste for cooking incredible Caribbean food, and thank you to @itsconcz for capturing the evening and always bringing great vibes.

This Tuesday is our final workshop of the series.

You don’t need to have come to the first 5 for it to make sense - every workshop is built so anyone can join at any time.

Week 4 at @theexchangew9 with @northpaddingtonfoodbank

This week, we explored the concept of self through others - a workshop we built to boost self-esteem and gently challenge the way we see ourselves.

We took a journey into how our loved ones might see us, reminding ourselves that we are not always the thoughts we have about ourselves. Sometimes the people who love us can see our light more clearly than we can.

It was a really moving one. Honest, reflective and full of beautiful moments in the room.

Huge thank you to @remy.jones_ for coming through and blessing us with amazing summery food, to @af_life25 for doing a beautiful breathwork to centre the room and thank you to @itsconcz for filming and capturing the evening.

Week 3 at @theexchangew9 for @northpaddingtonfoodbank

This week, we explored the theme of identity - looking at the people who have shaped us, the qualities they passed on, and the moments in our own lives where we’ve shown those same qualities.

It was a powerful, funny and emotional one! It’s interesting to reflect on some of our qualities and appreciate where they come from.

Before the workshop, we shared an amazing meal from @remy.jones_ , who made a banging meal for everyone! (He’s back next week with a summer menu if you want to try this delicious food)

We were honoured to have a breathwork specialist @af_life25 participating who centred the room before the creative writing. Thankyou Afs you g! ⭐

Big thank you to everyone who came, shared, listened and helped create such a special energy in the room. And thank you to @itsconcz for filming and capturing the evening.

Next Tuesday, we’re back again for another free meal and creative wellness workshop.

Week 2 of our 6 part series at @theexchangew9 with @northpaddingtonfoodbank

This week, we explored the theme of home - not just in the obvious sense, but the kind of home your body remembers.

The people, places, smells, sounds and small details that make your nervous system soften. The spaces where you feel safe enough to breathe, reflect and be yourself.

All of this came after an amazing meal from @bantscooking2.0 at @stop._and_.taste , with a summery Caesar salad and shark bites on the menu.

The energy in the room was beautiful. We ended the evening with poems that were emotional, funny, honest and genuinely powerful. Some of the writing shared was insane.

Next Tuesday, we’re back for week 3, focusing on identity - exploring who we are, how we see ourselves, and creative ways to reconnect with the parts of us we may have forgotten.

Last Tuesday we ran the first of our 6 part creative wellness series at @theexchangew9 The Exchange - a brilliant community space powered by @northpaddingtonfoodbank

We had beautiful food from @chrissieranx at @caribbeankitchenfood drinks from @oatly and ran our foundational Evoke workshop to open the series.

The energy was amazing. A really special evening of food, connection, reflection and creative writing.

This Tuesday we’re back for session 2, exploring the theme of “HOME” - what it means to us, where we find it, and how we carry it.

What can six weeks of creativity, connection and community unlock?

Here is a bit more information about our upcoming Mindful Creativity series in partnership with @theexchangew9 and @northpaddingtonfoodbank !

Over six sessions, we’ll explore creativity, belonging, identity, relationships, purpose and personal growth through guided writing, reflection and conversation.

The series is free to attend, with optional and encouraged donations supporting North Paddington Foodbank.

We’ll also be providing free food and refreshments, with meals prepared by the amazing @chrissieranx and @remy.jones_ alongside food and drink sponsors to be announced soon.
