DEF LEPPARD – DIAMOND STAR HEROES: LIVE FROM SHEFFIELD SACD Edition Reviews 今回、このSACDについてレーベルから非常に興味深い説明を聞きました。 Front Row Center SACD Seriesでは追加のリマスタリングは行われておらず、オリジナルBlu-rayのマルチトラックを使用しているとのこと。 しかもマルチチャンネルは、後から作られた疑似サラウンドではなく、本物のディスクリート・マルチチャンネル・ミックス。 経験豊富なエンジニアによって制作されたオリジナルのマルチトラック・ミックスを、そのまま活かしているそうです。 だからこそ、今回の比較はさらに興味深いものになりました。 追加リマスターなし。 同じオリジナルBlu-rayマルチトラック由来。 それでも、なぜ私のシステムではSACDの方がこれほど違って聴こえたのか？ 🔊 CD / Blu-ray Audio 正直に言うと、既存のCDとBlu-ray Audioの音には以前から不満がありました。 私だけの印象ではなく、他のレビューでも音質に対する同様の指摘が見られます。 特にベースは輪郭が曖昧で、ぼやけた印象。その影響で低域全体が膨らみ、バンドサウンドが一つの塊のように聴こえる場面がありました。 2本のギターも十分に分離されず、どちらのギターなのか追いにくい部分がある。 Joe Elliottのボーカルも完全に埋もれているわけではありませんが、ぼやけた低域によって輪郭が覆われ、聴き取りにくく感じる瞬間がありました。 正直、時にはオフィシャル・リリースというより、ブートレグを聴いているような感覚になることさえありました。 ✨ SACD 今回のSACDでは、その違いが私には非常に明確でした。 低域はよりタイトで、ベースの輪郭も明瞭。CD／Blu-ray Audioで感じていたもっさり感が大幅に減り、バンド全体のサウンドがよりクリアになっています。 その結果、Joe Elliottのボーカルも全編を通して明瞭に浮かび上がり、2本のギターもそれぞれ独立した楽器として、はるかに追いやすくなりました。 🎯 MULTICHANNEL バンドがメインになる場面では、まるで会場の最前列ど真ん中にいるような感覚。 ボーカルはセンターに明確に定位し、左右のギターもリアルに分離されています。 ただ、観客の歓声や会場のアンビエンスが強調されると、まるで最前列から突然、会場のど真ん中へ移動したような感覚になることも。 会場のスケール感は増しますが、バンドの鮮明さに比べると、観客音や残響には少し柔らかさが残ります。 🎵 PURE AUDIO そして個人的に最も満足度が高かったのは、Pure Audio / Stereo。 サラウンドの空間演出を意識することなく、今回感じた改善点をそのまま楽しめます。 低域はタイト。 ボーカルは明瞭。 ギターは分離されている。 そして、音量を上げてもバランスが崩れない。 マルチチャンネルは、より「会場」を体験させてくれる。 Pure Audioは、より直接的に「バンド」を体験させてくれる。 私にとっては、後者の方がより自然でリアルに感じられました。 ❓ SO WHY DOES IT SOUND DIFFERENT? レーベル自身も、追加リマスターを行っていない以上、なぜBlu-ray版とここまで違って聴こえるのかは明確には分からないとのこと。 同じソースでも、SACDフォーマットがより多くのディテールや分離感を引き出しているのかもしれません。 もちろん、これは私自身の再生システムと試聴環境に基づく個人的な感想です。 しかし、追加リマスターなしという事実を知ったことで、この比較はむしろさらに興味深くなりました。 そして同時に、最初からライブを本物のディスクリート・マルチチャンネルとして記録してきたレコードレーベル、バンド、そしてエンジニアへの敬意も、より一層深まりました。 そして今では、Diamond Star Heroes: Live From Sheffieldを聴く上で、個人的に最も満足度の高いバージョンになっています。 @defleppard @evo88official @evoxsnet by @evoxsnet
