Two hours from Copenhagen, deep in the Swedish forest, it felt like we had stepped into a storybook.
The soft, mossy forest floor felt like walking on a combination of air and shag carpet. Everywhere you looked, wild mushrooms had made their grand entrance. ✨🍄‍🟫 ✨
With my friends Monika and Jan, I trailed along with my camera, and learned along the way which varieties are edible. 5 hours later we had more than 20 kilos.
It took me about 20 hours to dry my share, and now I’m fully stocked for winter.
There is a good chance that @transeating will be putting them on the menu at The Breakfast Club @martinihouse_ 😉

So cool to see work I’ve shot make its way into print. 📖
Today I brought Henrik a print I’d made for him, and he had just received copies of his latest book, which includes 15 of my photographs!
It’s the fourth book in a series documenting his career, and it comes out October 8. 🚀

We were delighted to mark the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union this week with a cultural event.

Musicians @muireann_nica, @donaloconnormusic and @yetistampede (Gerry O’Beirne) played a stunning set of traditional Irish music featuring poetry by Ireland’s Professor of Poetry Vona Groarke.

We are looking forward to the coming months with lots meetings, events and other engagements 🇮🇪🇪🇺

Strength with unity ☘️

Two of my favorite angles from this sound check and performance shoot: between two candles, and through a slightly open barn door. 🎶

Big thank you to @helenamariafalk and @livestrings for the invitation to create alongside you. The performance was beautiful and completely mesmerizing.🔊

This is my favorite time of year: long sidelighting sun, ☀️and foraging sweet, juicy plums and blackberries.
There’s a little spot maybe 2 km from my house that feels a bit like Narnia. Plums, sea buckthorn, and blackberries all growing together. Foraging is always more fun with friends, it fills the belly and soul. This time the absolutely lovely @drgillysalter joined me. We were having so much fun reaching for the highest juiciest berries that I didn’t notice until I got home, it looked like I’d just arm wrestled a bobcat. 😂

I call it video reportage because that’s what it feels like to me: thoughtful movement and close to the action without getting in the way.

I’ve taught myself to edit over the last few years, and it has become part of the story-building that I really enjoy. Staying with the material, shaping it, and crafting it until the end.

With video, you have to shoot generously. A lot ends up on the editing floor, but that’s part of the process I’m learning from. Maybe one day I’ll make a short film of all the parts that didn’t make the final edit. 🤓

When I arrived a few hours before the show, Henrik shared an idea for a different way he wanted me to photograph the SS27 Fashion Week performance, “Keep the Moisture Rising.”

This was my fourth time documenting one of his shows, and each one has been completely different. I’m always in awe.

I love the energy of backstage, but this time my main focus before the event was fine-tuning the logistics of my camera above the crowd. It culminated in capturing four different elevated angles throughout the show.

These images are now part of the show’s story, and they will also live beyond the scroll in Book 4, Henrik Vibskov Studio’s latest book documenting his work, which they’re putting the finishing touches on now.

A little more about this special location:

The Umbrico Spiral, Henrik Vibskov’s pavilion made of 18 double spirals, is part of a major retrospective of his work that will be opening in late September at Designmuseum Denmark, I can’t imagine a busier or more exciting time for Henrik and the studio crew.

Excited to share this work for @boconcept_official during @3daysofdesign

Two full days of filming and shooting stills, followed by a very quick turnaround. A big thank you to the team @boconceptdanmark for such a clear brief, and to Xavier for helping with the color grade.

A very small camera having a very good summer. Lake Como 🇮🇹 to Chez Chapman 🇩🇰 Shot on my little Agfa with a fixed lens. The same one I brought to Burning Man, with Kodak Gold 200.

“Jeg elsker at være en fotograf i København.”
That is how I ended my presentation in Danish about my work as a photographer. 📸🇩🇰

I reached a big milestone today, passing the big test and completing all the PD2 levels (there are 6) in my Danish language education @studieskolen! But learning never stops, I’m excited to continue using this knowledge everyday.

I used to refer to myself as the “Spicoli” of danish level three because it took me 3 times to pass it! But this time, I had an excellent teacher, my family supported me and I practiced with friends who know the struggle. My test partner Muhammed was very happy too, he is just better at playing it cool. 😎
