Sometimes we carry grief and don’t even know that is what it is.

We know something hurts, but we don’t know why. After we consider everything we’ve lost or never had, we know why we are sad, but shouldn’t we “get over it?“

This week, we’ve been reminded that grief takes many forms.

As you reflect on Psalm 42, take a little time to recognize the losses in your own life. Don’t dismiss them because someone else’s loss seems greater.

And remember, you can be honest with God about all of it. 💜

I did something new! 😊

I started a Substack!

It’s called **The View From My Chair**, and it’s a place where I’ll be sharing a little more of myself—my life, my faith, my experiences with disability, and the things God is teaching me along the way.

I’ll still be posting here, but Substack will be a little different. Think of it as a place where we can get to know each other a little better.

And my first article is up!

It’s called **“My Purple Bible.”**

This month, I’ve been talking about disability grief. We often think about grief in terms of the big losses, but sometimes it’s the little things we miss that other people might not even recognize as losses.

That’s what my purple Bible is about.

When you hear the word grief, what do you immediately think about?

For many of us, it’s the death of someone we love.

Scripture shows us that grief encompasses much more.

We grieve loss, which can take many different forms.

This week, as we begin our October Scripture Journey on grief, I want to start by simply recognizing it:

If the loss is real, the grief is real. 💜

**I'm back! 💜**

After taking some much-needed time to move, settle in and find a new rhythm, I'm ready to begin again.

This month hasn't looked anything like I expected.

I'm still finding my rhythm in my new home, and I'm learning that sometimes it's okay to simply be still and give yourself time to adjust.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
—Psalm 46:10

God hasn't asked me to have everything figured out before I rest in Him.

So that's what I'm doing.

And I'm excited to tell you that new Scripture Journeys begin October 5! 💜
