We spend so much time preparing athletes for the next game, the next season and the next level.

But are we preparing them for the next chapter?

The jersey eventually comes off. The crowds get quieter. The attention changes. And that is when knowing who you are beyond the game becomes even more important.

This is one of the conversations we need to start having BEFORE the game ends.

Athletes are more than what they produce on the court or field.

In sports, we learn how to play through pain.

But strength is not always about pushing through.

Sometimes strength is saying, “I need help.”

Athletes, coaches, parents, executives, entrepreneurs, all of us can carry pressure that nobody else sees.

Asking for help does not make you weak. Having the right people around you can change everything.

People laughed when Metta World Peace changed his name.

But behind the name was something much deeper.

He had seen people from his neighborhood lose their lives. Peace was not just a word to him. It represented something he believed was necessary.
