Wow. 1 Whole year of leading Strong Start Series at Eden Fitness Studio (technically the anniversary was in June 🫣) so I wanted to celebrate with 4 women who not only completed the program, but repeated it, and then began personal training with me as 2 separate duos after.

I can’t express in words how much the Strong Start program means to me, how much Eden means to me, or how much my clients mean to me. Last year, Tammy, Eden’s owner, pushed me to become a trainer. Then asked me to lead a strength course. When I asked her “okay, what’s the blueprint?” she told me to design my own. My stomach dropped. There was no way I could design the blueprint for a strength course without the knowledge or experience.

Except she pointed out that I did have it. That I taught CSX at CorePower, took CrossFit classes regularly at one point and had experience at 2 different CrossFit gyms. That I tried several personal trainers myself. That I did boxing bootcamps, and endless HIIT classes, at least 5 half marathons and a full marathon, 10 years of cheer experience, life guarding, etc. even before I touched yoga.

So I came up with a class. Designed a program that teaches women how to use dumbbells, the barbell, and smith machine. When to use one vs the other. How to use those machines safely and effectively and how to progressive overload.

I’m so proud of these women. For prioritizing their strength and health. For showing up consistently, listening to their bodies, and having SO MUCH FUN. I feel 10x better when I’m around them and doing this photoshoot all together was the cherry on top 🍒

We kicked off Tech Week with a little mindfulness at Tantara 🧘‍♀️✨

We were so happy to host @timingai and @biuty.ai for a morning of meditation, movement, coffee, conversation, and connection. It was such a lovely opportunity to meet new people from across the tech community and learn more about the work both of these companies are doing. 🌸

A decade ago I arrived at Orange Village Hostel on O’Farrell st. I think my first meal was at Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers nearby. Did I bring one suitcase or two?
