I can’t believe it’s already been 3 weeks since we wrapped on ‘Pinball’! Another fantastic collaboration with Harry + Matt in the can. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

‘What does a producer actually do?’

The most frequent question I get asked, regardless of the room I’m in. After 10 years of making film, theatre and live events… I still don’t think I’ve mastered a comprehensive explanation outside of… ‘everything’.

The thing is, this particular shoot was a 'low budget short film'. Usually, the producer has no place on set - their job is BEHIND the scenes. They’d be FAR too busy planning the film’s next steps, strategising the film’s distribution journey, organising the overall finances, building high trust partnerships and generally ensuring that every ‘t’ has been crossed and every ‘i’ dotted... the Heads of Department are the ones in charge here.

Not the case with a short, the producer has to be a little bit knowledgeable about every department to make it work.

Need water? She's a runner
Need lunch? She's catering
Need the set adjusting? She's set design
Need... anything? She's got you (that's what it comes down to).

Here’s a lil preview of my latest short ‘The Gotaway’, written and directed by Chris Brown. I think sometimes (especially in today’s world), pictures can often tell a more comprehensible story themselves.

(I’m beginning to think that a succinct way of explaining it might be ‘no producer, no product ’.)

What an amazing day we had filming 10 gorgeous dancers in such a beautiful part of London. I had an amazing time bringing this short film to life after a crazy short amount of time in prep. My first rom com, with the stunning Matthew Hegarty and Ree Coler-Williams, my first time shooting with Canon CN-E primes (beautiful) and my first time trying out the Fiilex Q6 lights (also beautiful and worked seamlessly alongside my LitePanels).

Having spent a lot of jobs recently shooting on my own it was so lovely to have a crew again, so I must give a shout out to 1st AC Pete Nance (and his Mary Poppins van), 2nd AC Bella Peterson, Camera Trainee Nathan Grove and Gaffer Thomas Maher. Also special love to Director Beth Rowland for bringing me on!

I was going to break my tradition of keeping to 9 but ended up with 9 anyway! Anyway, 2025 involved a lot (like a lot) of running, dancing and looking after my babies. I did also shoot don’t worry. 🎥 Hoping 2026 brings a lot of healing, more work for my beloved filmmaking community, and continuing to see my children thrive.
