I still don’t know how it happened, but it did and after 147hrs 38min, it all made sense - I will never be the same again 💛🖤

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

Southern Summits has grown another branch, Southern Summits Trail Coach!

After years of exploring the trails, pushing my own limits and assisting friends informally with their trail running journeys, I’m excited to announce the launch of my running coaching business.

I am truly fascinated by the process of preparing for ultra endurance events and believe that everyone is capable of doing extraordinary things if they have the right tools and guidance along the way.

Having recently completed my ultra running coaching certification, I’m ready to combine my experience of and passion for trail running with my background in science to help others achieve their goals.

My coaching philosophy is all about balance—preparing you physically with a science-based approach to training while also addressing often-overlooked aspects like mental resilience, emotional well-being, and life’s many challenges; all of which play an important role in achieving goals.

⛰️ And of course, keeping the fun and adventure alive throughout the training journey! ⛰️

Whether you’re dreaming of crossing your first trail race finish line, completing your first ultra or chasing a personal best, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

I know I made the right call with my TOR DNS. But truth is, it REALLY messed with my head afterwards.

Because the old Colleen would have lined up, called herself hardcore and fucked her foot up properly.

This Colleen actually went to AND listened to a doctor, listened to her body and made the sensible decision. 😱😂

And then a few weeks later, when I could walk, hike and do a few short runs again, I started wondering if I’d made the wrong call. Even feeling guilty for doing those things.

Turns out making the sensible decision doesn’t necessarily mean your brain immediately agrees with it. 😂

I wrote the longer version of what happened, and why Bobotov Kuk ended up being part of the story, in a blog post. ⛰️🇲🇪

Black Lake, Žabljak 🇲🇪

Looks like one lake. Technically two glacial lakes, Veliko Jezero and Malo Jezero, which can join together or separate depending on the season.

Spent a week in Žabljak, so naturally ended up walking around it more than once. 🤩

Zinal🇨🇭💫

Thank you @anoukondago for letting me tag along on Saturday.

It was easily the highlight of my trip so far!

The views were spectacular, of course, and Lac du Moiry was almost unreal with that impossibly blue water. But the best parts were the ones I couldn’t have planned.

A chance encounter and catch up with @jannyhoranny and watching a dear friend cross the finish line of an absolutely brutal race with the biggest smile and the happiest heart. 🫶

A day I’ll remember for a long time.

Leaving the Alps tomorrow with so many special memories, perhaps not the ones I expected or planned for, but somehow all the more meaningful for it. taken in Zinal, Valais, Switzerland by @explore_with_cobro

DNS - @tordesgeants 2026 😭

Not what I travelled all the way to Europe for, and definitely one of the shittier decisions I’ve had to make.

I believe in pushing when things get hard. I’ve done that plenty and still want to be able to do that for years to come.

But there’s a difference between pushing through something difficult and pushing when your body simply doesn’t have the capacity for what you’re asking of it.

Right now, mine doesn’t. And after seeing the docs, the message was pretty clear: starting TOR in this state would be a very bad idea.

So I’m choosing not to step into the arena. I’m gutted, but I’m not prepared to risk turning a short term injury into months of not being able to run, guide, work and do the things I love. ⛰️

I’ve been lucky for the last 10 years, but I became greedy with training the last while.

For now, I’ll make the most of the privilege of being in Europe. 😎

I am, however, very disappointed to miss finding random dragons along the TOR route this year. 🐉😂

Pont St. Martin ➡️ Rifugio Barma ➡️ Fontainemore🤩⛰️

So happy I got to see Rif. Coda & Rif. Barma in daylight this year! It’s way more beautiful than I remember!

Especially when you aren’t trying to find a spot under a rifugio table to nap for 30min before heading out again for some boulder hopping after midnight😂

Mt Buet featuring some heavy breathing at 3,000m, a boulder field, a pretty forest with streams and, of course, the obligatory summit sandwich 👌

Been wanting to get up here for a few years, so yesterday was such a treat. As always, humbled by the sheer magnitude of this playground. So lucky to be here 🏔️
