POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏁A couple of weeks ago, I threw myself at the Tour du Roc (🇨🇭 Trail du Besso) — 28km / 2,400m.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣A small but pretty exciting step towards getting back to consistent, progressive running after a year of my body having other ideas ; a combination of hormones, menopause and Lyme disease.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Crossing that finish line felt so good. Pushing the technical downhills, sliding down the chains and just enjoying being back in the mix.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣❤️Even better to have Colleen, Willem and Jan there cheering me in. @explore_with_cobro
⁣⁣
⁣A little chuffed. ⛰️ onwards! ⁣

⁣⚫️🟡Thank you always to @instinct_trail @traildubesso

The first quarter of 2027 might feel a long way away.

It isn’t.

If you’re targeting a race in early 2027, now is a good time to start.

Not by rushing into race specific training, but by building the fitness, strength, durability and consistency that you’ll need when the time comes.

Coaching enquiries open.

A Great Success 🙌

What an incredible success the Double Everesting Challenge Charity Run for Child and Family Welfare was! 🏔️🏃🏽‍♂️❤️

A massive THANK YOU to all our sponsors, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who played a part in making this challenge possible. Your generosity, time, and dedication made a huge difference.

This was more than just a challenge for charity, it was a run for a greater purpose, supporting children and families who need it most.

Together, we climbed higher, pushed harder, and made an impact. 🙏🏽
It was not a competition, it was an awareness and extending our hand to help this institution as we also learned that one of their safe houses was wiped out during the recent floods. The donation link is still open till the 18 of September 2026 you can find it on my Bio.

Thank you for believing in the cause. ❤️

Athlete Stories: @johannbygbr

When Johann joined me in May 2025, he came onboard just a couple of weeks before MUT 60km. There wasn’t much time for structured training to make an impact, but what that race did show me was something far more valuable; Johann has grit, determination, and a willingness to take on big challenges. 🔥

Over the months that followed, we took a deep dive into preparing for two UTMB races in Thailand, scheduled on back to back weekends. The journey was anything but straightforward. A lost passport meant he couldn’t travel for the first race, and a broken toe added another hurdle before the second. Yet somehow, Johann managed to line up and complete the second race, a testament to his ability to adapt, endure, and keep moving forward when things don’t go according to plan.

From there, our focus shifted back to MUT 60km 2026. Like any long term journey, it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Illness, work commitments, and life getting in the way all tested his consistency, but Johann kept coming back to the process.

The result? A huge 2-hour improvement on his MUT 60km time! 💥

What I’ve loved seeing most is the growth beyond the finish lines. Johann has learned to trust the process, embrace consistency, and believe in what he is capable of. It’s been incredible watching his confidence grow as he realises that big goals are built one step at a time. 💫

Next up: @tsitsikamma_ultra in August 2026, followed by an even bigger adventure as he steps up to the 100km category at @utmboman 🇴🇲😎

Johann is a reminder that endurance is built through resilience. It’s about showing up, adapting when things go wrong, and continuing to move forward, no matter how many obstacles appear along the way.

I’m excited to see where this next chapter takes him. 💪

The mountain had other plans for sunset last night…and we’re not complaining. 🌫️

The mist rolled in, the headlamps came on, and the cross stood glowing above us, a pretty special backdrop for another Wednesday ladies trail run.⛰️

Thanks to all the ladies who joined💛

Training focus this week: Time on rocks 🪨

This week’s long “run” (read: fast hike 😅) had two goals:

• Time on steep, technical terrain
• Full race pack conditioning

Ever since a bad fall in 2023, I’ve subconsciously tensed up on rocky descents. Last year at @tordesgeants , that tension cost me far more energy than the terrain itself. Over a 200mile race, every tense step adds up.

So this year I’m doing the thing I enjoy least: seeking out steep, loose, technical descents and practising staying calm, relaxed and trusting my legs. The goal isn’t to descend faster. It’s to descend more efficiently.

I also carried my full race pack yesterday🎒 Maybe I’ll get lucky with the weather, maybe I won’t. But if I end up hauling 6kg of mandatory gear for 200 miles, I want my body to be ready.

One of the biggest lessons in trail running? It’s not always about getting fitter. Sometimes the biggest gains come from identifying what’s costing you energy, and deliberately training that weakness.
