Our accommodations are also part of this theme - we are staying at country houses and a private castle where we can intimately experience the history of these noble estates.

Our introduction continues with founder Laura Iarocci. After a successful career on Wall Street, Laura pursued her true passion for floral design and founded Faith Flowers, an award-winning floral design studio based in Atlanta, Georgia (@faithflowersatl ). The daughter of a former U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands, her love of travel and flowers inspired her to create Explore Flower Tours to provide immersive floral experiences across the globe. She wanted to give her flower friends opportunities to discover the beauty of flowers worldwide. As a sought-after floral designer, instructor and author of Faith Flowers, she can be found in beautiful ballrooms, her Atlanta flower school or flower fields and studios around the world. Through her work, she combines creativity, education and a deep appreciation for flowers to inspire and connect people through floral design.

Our first stay on our 2027 Scotland Tour is Dumfries House!
Dumfries House is a unique 18th century country estate in Ayrshire, Scotland. Spending three days and four nights there will give us the opportunity to learn about the history of the magnificent estate house, its incomparable Chippendale furniture collection, The King’s Foundation and the School of Traditional Arts.

Dumfries House was built by the 5th Earl of Dumfries between 1754 and 1759. He commissioned the famous Scottish architect Robert Adam to design a grand home fitting for someone who was a member of the Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle. It remained within the family line until 2007, when the entire estate was prepared for auction. Charles, the Prince of Wales, quickly formed a last minute coalition to save the property and its invaluable Georgian-era contents, and eventually restore it to its original grandeur.

As well as a thriving cultural and educational site, Dumfries House serves as the headquarters for The King’s Foundation and their flagship farm and School of Traditional Arts. King Charles, then Prince of Wales, first established The King’s Foundation in 1990. Using the guiding principle of harmony - understanding the balance between ourselves and nature - the foundation seeks to use that connection to solve global problems.

During our time spent in Washington we were treated to a private garden tour with @champagne.creek ! She shared her journey of building the garden over the past 30 years. We loved seeing the colorful and creative garden rooms and fabulous collection of fuchsia. Thank you again!

We had an amazing time on our tour of the Pacific Northwest!
Some extra highlights included a visit to the Space Needle and the museum at its base honoring all elements of the artworks of Dale Chihuly. Dale Chihuly was inspired by his own mother’s garden growing up in Washington to create these beautiful glass installations. We also stopped by the Bellevue Botanical Gardens which opened in 1984 as a community garden after a local couple donated their property. The perennial garden was a must see! Our last stop was Pikes Place Market the home of the infamous fishmongers tossing fish! Great time sampling food and checking,out local flowers for sale. Thank you to everyone who joined us on our tour and all the local farmers and floral designers who welcomed us in our travels through the Pacific Northwest!

A visit with @flowerfarmergirls and @fleurscreative was a great way to spend our last day in the PNW! The mother-daughter team of Beth and Carol welcomed us to their flower farm where we learned about growing dahlias and then cut some of their beauties for our afternoon flower workshop. Alicia Schwede led our workshop in her charming Snohomish, WA studio where we made garden style centerpieces featuring local dahlias. Thanks you all for such a welcoming and enjoyable day!🌼

The second half of our day we spent learning new techniques from @debraprinzing ! We incorporated a new fan technique using greenery with a hint of fall from a Jell-o mold! This was mixed in with dahlias and the Queen-line house series of zinnias all sourced from local farms. Thanks so much for having us! Be sure to check out Debra’s company @slowflowerssociety . Started off our day with a tour of the Seattle Growers Market with @debraprinzing . This cooperative of 19 flower farms from Washington and Oregon deliver a locally grown floral supply to this Seattle wholesaler with the goal of selling sustainably grown local flowers to the floral industry. We saw an amazing abundance of beautiful blooms with a hint of fall on the horizon.

Treated to a private tour of Camille Paulsen’s gorgeous gardens (@tahomaflora ) in Puyalllup, Wa.
We loved walking through this beautifully crafted space with it’s asian inspired garden rooms and picturesque views of Mt. Rainier.

A guided tour of the International Rose Test Garden in Portland. Over 10,000 rose bushes that showcase 610 different varieties of roses set against a backdrop of majestic redwoods and douglas firs. The garden has been a testing ground for new rose varieties dating all the way back to World War One.
