I am extremely gratefully to have experienced the last 10 years in so many incredible places around the world, meeting all the wonderful people and finding my home in the Canadian Rockies.

Thank you to everyone who has made this chapter of my life the best one to date. I can’t wait to see what the next decade has to offer.

A journey to Volcano de Fuego: There was so much anticipation surrounding this adventure. People raved about it, calling it the best experience of their lives. I read countless online reviews echoing the same sentiment.

Yet, nothing could prepare me for the sheer awe of this experience.

It’s grueling—a 30km hike with a 3000m elevation gain in less than 24 hours. But the payoff? Absolutely worth it.

I’ve traveled far and wide, but this? This ranks among the best. The thunderous boom as the volcano erupts, the ground trembling beneath your feet, the mesmerizing sight of lava cascading down its slopes, and the intense red glow against the night sky—all indelible moments etched into memory.

And the aftermath? The sensation of grains of ash raining down after each eruption—it’s pure, unadulterated exhilaration.

If you have ever thought about visiting Guatemala and undertaking this hike, 100% do it. If this is the first time you’ve heard about this adventure. Do your research, save the money and go have the most incredible experience of your life. You won’t regret it.

Swipe to meet the most curious little cutie 🐐

On a recent backcountry trip, a few mountain goats decided to stroll right through our campground like they owned the place. Which, to be fair, they do. Totally unfazed by us, totally fascinated by… well, everything.

I hauled my big heavy lens up there to give them space, but honestly, they got so close it almost felt too close for comfort.

The upside? A front-row seat to capture some portraits of these incredible creatures.

Moments like this are why I’ll never stop saying it: Nature is awesome!!

World Photography Day (…okay, technically yesterday, but better late than never).

I wanted to share some of my favourite shots from along this wild photography journey. True to form, I could never pick just one niche, so I broke it down into four areas I love most:

Self Portraits – Way harder than they look. It’s been a skill I’ve been consciously practicing over the last couple of years.

Landscapes – The reason I first picked up a camera. Living in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, there’s a photo opportunity around every corner—or at the top of every mountain.

Portraits – Photography at its most personal and intimate. Two traits that don’t come naturally to me, but that’s exactly why I keep chasing growth here.

Wildlife – Nothing excites me more than seeing animals in the wild, and capturing that shot takes endless patience. But when it happens? Pure magic.

Waterfall Wednesday

Hiking the Berg Lake Trail means one thing, you’re never short on waterfalls. The Valley of a Thousand Falls alone is a dream for anyone who loves chasing that falling water.

Here’s what I spotted along the way:

1️⃣, 2️⃣ & 7️⃣ – Emperor Falls (the showstopper!)

3️⃣ & 6️⃣ – Valley of a Thousand Falls (yep, it lives up to the name)

4️⃣ & 5️⃣ – White Falls (pure power)

8️⃣ – Snowbird Pass Falls (bonus find!)

Not saying I’m obsessed… but backcountry camping with the boys at Berg Lake might just be top-tier adventure status.

These shots? All from one afternoon. Not even a full day out here! Berg Lake is basically an endless reel of jaw-dropping views, and I’m already counting down the days until I’m back.

The forecast promised rain and clouds every day of the trip… but Mother Nature had other plans.

Instead, we got two brief hail showers—and then some of the best light I’ve ever seen.

Would you choose the flower in focus, or the mountain view behind it? 🌼🏔️

Yesterday we finally checked Mount Bourgeau off the list, and wow, it lived up to the hype. I’d heard from so many people how good it was, but somehow each summer it kept slipping through the cracks. Not this time.

The trail is a solid one: 26km round-trip with 1700m of elevation gain. It’s long, but the grade is steady, so it never feels too punishing.

Once you reach Bourgeau Lake, the scenery truly steps it up; crystal-clear lakes, cascading waterfalls, fields of wildflowers, marmots and ground squirrels darting along the trail, even an eagle soaring overhead. And views? Mountains in every direction.
