How did Jurij Scheibler end up printing with Extrudr? 🏄‍♂️
It started with a friend's printer, and the filament he was printing with was ours.

After those first prints, Jurij checked out our website and realized we're basically neighbours, both based around Lake Constance. So he did the obvious thing and dropped us an email. ✉️

Six years into hydrofoiling and out on the water almost every day, he now uses 3D printing to develop custom parts for his sport. 🌊

Meet Jurij Scheibler 🏄‍♂️ Professional hydrofoiler from Austria, just around the corner from our HQ at Lake Constance.

Jurij first discovered hydrofoiling online back in 2018 and has been flying above the water for about six years now. In our exclusive interview, he shares how 3D printing fits into his sport: from quick board prototypes and sail harness accessories to multi-part molds that would be difficult or expensive to mill. 🛠️

For Jurij, 3D printing is simply the easiest way to bring custom designs to life. 🌊

The Spindle: a rotating desk organizer that spins on fully 3D-printed bearings. A design collab with @additiveworks_ , printed in Extrudr filament.

No screws, no metal balls, no extra hardware. Even the pins are cut from filament offcuts. Three compartments, one twist, and every tool is within reach.

🚀 @aerospaceteamgrazofficial is a student association that develops research rockets. For efficient combustion in their combustion chambers, they need special geometries, a challenge they solve with 3D printing.

🔧 Here, they printed casting molds from Extrudr DuraPro ASA filament, then cast them with HTPB (hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene). The molds let them freely shape the combustion chamber geometry and handle the solid propellant properly.

🔥 When the engine ignites, the mold burns together with the propellant. That means less propellant is needed, for a lighter rocket or more payload at the same launch weight.

🧡 This kind of innovation depends on high-quality filament. Extrudr's precise, reliable materials help the team meet the demands of rocket building and push the limits of what's technically possible.
