are you a fan of @therollingstones? 👄👅🤘🏾

hard to believe i woke up that afternoon and was told i was going to see their concert that night! 😆

i got to see them with my husband from a dope suite @empowerfieldatmilehigh, got drunk off too much cabernet, got full on pizza and marble brownies.

my favorite things included: the backup singer 😍 (chanel hayes—a gorgeous Black woman w unbelievably haunting vocals who played Tina Turner in the musical in London!!), the kid in the suite next door watching rocket league on his phone 💀, and the concert visuals: i really want to try my hand at projection mapping and concert visual design at some point! so perhaps soon in the future you’ll be able to see my art lighting up your favorite musical act ;) taken in Suites at Empower Field at Mile High by @eyeofshamia

Did you know? 🧐 There’s a tool in the treatment of mood disorders where you literally create a ✨ pleasant events calendar ✨ to counter the sense that life is exclusively miserable. Fun part? This doesn’t have to be something a therapist prescribes you. We can ALL do this: Schedule leisure. Schedule pleasure. Schedule ease, laughter, delight. Then, show tf up. taken in Joshua Tree, California by @eyeofshamia

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐦𝐞? ‘𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐚. 🥺💜 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💋 I decided to take a break from social media because of the election, but then— a few days turned into a week, which turned into a whole ass month.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
😩 As someone whose life is pretty much wrapped up in social media, the first two days were the hardest. I would open apps out of pure reflex— I actually had to delete everything from my phone haha yikes ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🧠 But thanks to all the extra time, I not only dug deeper into my hobbies (like cosplaying 🥰), but I created a whole ass income stream! Ya girl is now on Amazon!
⁣
📓 So far I’ve created daily reflections journals, and planners for user experience designers! My UX planner ranked #178 in Industrial & Product Design books at one point, but best believe I’m gunning for #1! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💸 Other than that, still working my moonlighting job as a marketing manager for a nonprofit tech organization that helps women in the product management field. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🫀 My personal life is *sighs* but that’s perhaps a story for another caption. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
😅 So... *looks around* what did I miss? taken in Denver, Colorado by @eyeofshamia

UPDATE: for anyone reading this in 2024 + beyond: i kept this up but know that my brother is free, moved to a new state, is closer than ever to his son, and has even started his own business! my heart and gratitude goes out to anyone and everyone who was a part of this movement—our petition not only got over 3k signatures but also, my bother told me not one but TWO jurors had to be dismissed because they had actually seen and signed the petition (which had the prosecution shook!). our work paid off. thank you, i appreciate you. 🙏🏾

——

My brother has been imprisoned by the #newarkpolice department for the past 17 months FOR A CRIME HE DID NOT COMMIT. If black lives matter is something you actually care about, there’s a link in my bio on the FOUR WAYS you can help my brother gain his FREEDOM!! We are nearly 800 signatures (out of 1k) and raised almost $3k on his @gofundme for legal fees and relocation costs once he’s released already!! PLEASE share far & wide! No action is too small here! ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER. ✊🏾💜🙏🏾#JusticeForDavidBradley #InvestigateNewarkNJPD #allblacklivesmatter #signthepetition #donate #donatetoday #plzshareandsupport #pleaseshare #thankyouforyoursupport #freemybrother taken in Newark, New Jersey by @eyeofshamia
