On an impulse after i finished work in #streakybay after watching the SE wind howl back after a few months absence, i strapped on my fastest foil and headed for Eba anchorage 15km away…. I reckon I was back in about an hour and a quarter which makes a pretty good average factoring in a jellyfish crash and two #gopro fiddle events (and another couple of stacks)… pretty cold and stiff by the end but pretty fun too. @oesaustralia glide 6’8 but would’ve been ok on the raptor…. @axisfoils chopped 1001 doing a great job at speed too. #wingfoil #foilbrained #surffoil by @eyrefoiler

Moving on up to #streakybay 🤣 … So this was quite different from most #downwinder runs Ive done in the past…. Big foil (@axisfoils 1201) on enclosed waters… but I enjoyed trying to get a bit of flow on the knee high bumps. Pretty interesting how varied the windswell is on such a small area of water. I did a couple of runs before the sun got too low…. #parawing #supfoil @oesaustralia by @eyrefoiler

One way to make use of a windy rainy evening in #streakybay It’s been quite a few months between #parawing sessions so a bit rusty especially first #downwinder on my @axisfoils 1201… But ended up being pretty good. #foilbrained #supfoil @oesaustralia glide 100l always my goto if Im not sure about the conditions. @ozone.wing v1 pocket rocket 3m perfect for 15 to 25 knots. Thanks to anyone who saw me disappear over the horizon and didn’t call 000👍 by @eyrefoiler

Safe to say #streakybay is feeling pretty rosy as my new home… first successful dock start (well drop start off a sleeper under the jetty) for nearly 3 years, and first time on an @axisfoils 1201. Gave a lot of people a lot of laughs it took about 50 attempts I reckon😇 but I think this just might be a thing… the jetty just got even better! Thanks Kerrie for not laughing too hard and getting the clip😂

Few big changes going on in my life right now but eyrefoiler pseudonym keeping my sanity intact at times 🙏 Anyway things are turning around it feels like, I’ll be heading to pastures new up the coast, looking forward to scoping some new spots. Picked up this @axisfoils 1201 for under $200 and it’s filled a gap in my quiver that I forgot I had🤯 Flat water paddle ups on my @oesaustralia Glide 6’8 and riding this spot with ease. I even shot the jetty! Love this foiling lark so many facets to keep us fascinated…

Loved the light after this "I'll just get one more" session. New 5'10 @oesaustralia Raptor doing a good job getting my prone skills somewhere back to acceptable. Quite amazing how much easier it is to pump than my Glide 6'8...

Happy to report that the new @oesaustralia Raptor 5'10 55l works😄 I had a bit of a hand in the design of this one so doubly stoked! I had a few parameters that i hope will cross between a bigger wave prone board and a parawing board. At 55l it still duckdives well enough for my 75kg. The tail bevel helps dampen the take off, and I'm now interested to see if it affects takeoff too negatively on the wing. Feels bang on for the shoulder high waves here today. I got a double on my first wave pretty happy considering I haven't really proned in a year. @axisfoils modded 951 good start looking forward to smaller foil soon.

Pretty happy how this has turned out! It's a pretty b grade wetrub but good enough to see what has changed. Surprisingly tricky to sand it to an acceptable section, the twist or washout in the tips play weird tricks on my eyes. Glad I had a reference on the lower surface. Hotcoated with UV polyester..... Ok it looks like this just might work! The new tips didn't lose any shape, and are stiff as. Today I routed to grooves either side at the same depth of the cuts I made to flex and twist the tips. I added uni carbon, compressed it with tape and squeegeed out excess resin under plastic. Hot water bottles to make the resin go off quick.... So I got tip washout FOMO after trying out an @axisfoils Surge. I've been considering the best way to remod my chopped 1001 to improve tip breach. Hopefully this works, cos it's knackered if not😂 be a shame cos it's been a great foil for bigger swells and winging...There's a mix of biaxial and uni under the twill carbon, all laid on top of half of the foil section that is clamped and twisted into shape. I think it will spring back a bit, but I'll grind off the lower side (that also has slits cut so it will bend enough) and that should ease the pressure. I retapered the tips too, crikey I'm all frothed if it works! #foilmods #hydrofoil #epoxy #carbonfibre #foilbrained by @eyrefoiler
