Please help me celebrate The Village Youth Executive Board for completing their first community service project, done in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

These young leaders partnered with the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank and prepared 640 diaper kits, totaling 16,000 diapers for families in need across the region. Months ago, they voted for this project. This weekend, they executed it with heart, teamwork, and purpose. by @f.echolsmd

Serving others reminds us that purpose is found beyond ourselves. This morning, we spent time giving back at the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank—supporting families, meeting real needs, and showing up with intention and care. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” Service is how we continue to answer that call.

I am grateful to the Arthritis Foundation, The Narrative Matters, and At Home Care Health for the opportunity to share preventive health information with some of our most valued citizens, our seniors. It is one of the best ways to start my 2025 closeout.

As part of 21c Museum Hotel St. Louis commitment to Impact Hospitality and giving back to our community, we are proud to host Mistletoe Mixology, a festive cocktail hour benefiting The Village Mentoring Program as our December Nonprofit of the Month.

The event blends seasonal celebration with purposeful impact, gathering community leaders, professionals, and changemakers to sip, network, and support a mission rooted in surrounding youth with the mentorship, love, and leadership they need to thrive.

Guests will enjoy hand-crafted holiday cocktails, light bites, and the contemporary art-filled backdrop of 21c’s Main Gallery while learning how they can support The Village’s mission. A portion of proceeds from select cocktails will go directly to the nonprofit, which works year-round to create safe spaces, leadership opportunities, and mentorship programming for youth in our region.

Proud to serve during Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s Founders’ Day Weekend supporting Project Alpha with Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. We provided real conversation and real guidance to over 200 young men. Watching one of my mentees lead beside me was a full-circle moment.

Congratulations to Bishop Lawrence Wooten and Lady Shirley Wooten on 46 years of faithful service at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ- STL (Church of God In Christ Inc. (COGIC)) to God and His people. Your leadership, love, and commitment have strengthened families, communities, and generations. We thank God for you both!
