I have finally completed this drawing. I took some time, changed a couple of things, and I could still see more things to do, but I'm not chasing perfection. This is a birthday card, and hopefully it brings peace to the person who receives it. And it is a huge step for me, since I'm giving it to the very person whose harsh, constant criticism turned me away from drawing all these years ago. But, there is beauty in drawing, beyond what you create. To me, it's part of therapy. The new me can show a drawing without fear, not because it is perfect, but because I'm healed now.
So, happy birthday Mum. May your path be more serene.

This is my list of prompts for Artober! I've decided to challenge myself to draw and post 1 drawing per day in October! 🎃🍂
It's my very first time taking part in it, and I'm very excited! I am a little anxious of course, I'm not sure I can finish everything (but will finish, just not in time haha). And it's very likely nobody will see / like any of it so... Yeah I'm really just doing it for me. 😆

*My husband wants to see the Flying Dutchman so... I'll do my best! 😄

My final prompt for Artober is here!!! 🎃
Samhain/Samhainn is a Celtic festival from which Halloween is derived.
Samhain originated in Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man. (Thanks to @kennyboyleofficial I know not to omit it! 🤗)
On the 31st night of October, the barrier between our world and the spirits' world is thinning, allowing for visits!
I wanted to include Samhain elements in my drawing, as well as the deer. This lady is calling upon spirits of the departed, while protecting against evil ones with her chanting. ✨🔥
Thank you for sticking with me until the last prompt! 😊

Happy Samhain / Halloween everyone! 🤗🎃

The sketch for this drawing!
It didn't take very long and drawing the deer antlers was very satisfying!

But more importantly, why did I choose Samhain?
That's because I fell in love with Scotland and its folklore and I wish to visit during Samhain one day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨

Plus, we do have remnants of our Celtic heritage in France, mainly in Brittany (Bretagne).
Not too long ago, we sent singers to Eurovision that sang in French Gaelic, which was pretty cool!!! 🔥
If you feel like it, do check out the song Fulenn (Spark) by Alvan & Ahez! 😆 by @fableandleaf1

The 27th prompt is here!!! 😄👻

Leave it to me to forget I had a drawing ready! 😂
In my defence, I was hosting my lovely niece, had driven a lot and was knackered by 8pm! 😆

But he's here, as a little appetiser before tomorrow! 😊
I'm an absolute scaredy-cat so I stay away from anything too spooky!
Don't even get me started on clowns...
But this little ghost is not here to scare anyone! 💕
I drew him in August actually, and it works so well as a sticker! 😍
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

It took forever and a half but, but... It's here!! 😄🍲

My 14th prompt is Cauldron, and I wanted to make it extra cosy.
It's finally starting to feel like autumn here! 🍂 It's chilly, rainy, I love it! 😍
When it gets colder, nothing is better than a warm bowl of soup!
I wanted this drawing to feel warm, inviting you to sit by the fire while dinner is getting ready! 😊

I took my time with this one, and a few things did resist me. I have a hard time comprehending how lighting works, so it probably looks a bit weird haha! 😅
But hopefully, it will bring you some warmth! 🤗

I had to show some close-ups because I worked a lot on tiny details, and then blurred most of it! 😅
But between you and me, I love the garlic here haha! I was so happy while drawing it.
Next to it (it's really hard to see probably), but I tried to draw some salt, pepper AND pink salt crystals haha. I've never used pink salt, actually. 😄

Finally, I thought I'd keep using French in my drawing, and I had to show you how extra cute I tried to make it, with little hearts on my the letter i. 💕
Just because! 🤗 by @fableandleaf1

Day 22 of Artober is here!! 🍂
Wow, I have really fallen behind! 🙈

This is my very first challenge. As a beginner, I was hoping to post consistently for a week at least, so mission accomplished! 😄
Autumn isn't over, so I will post a few prompts I missed later. 😊

Today, my prompt is rocking chair. I drew this a while ago actually! 🤫
I was imagining how nice it would be to sit in a rocking chair, all cosy, surrounded by autumn leaves. Wouldn't it be nice to sip on a cuppa while reading a good book? ☕📖

The secret is out hahaha! 😊 I actually drew this in September, desperate for autumn to come! When I started drawing again, I made quite a few stickers. Then, as I got more confident, I moved on to letter paper. I love sending letters and this design is my favourite! 🥰
I drew with printing in mind, so these work perfectly on A5 paper.
Feel free to use it! 🤗

I'm laaaaate! 😆 Finally, the 13th prompt on my list is done!
Today, we have the Flying Dutchman (per my husband's request 🤭)!🏴‍☠️

Between me catching a cold and my PC mouse dying, that poor drawing was delayed quite a bit!
This time, I wanted something a little spooky, but still soft. It was quite challenging because I'm not familiar with drawing ships but this is why I added it to my list. I'm learning how to draw and I want to challenge myself,
despite my introversion trying to keep me in my comfort zone! 😂

Hopefully you like it, and if you can guess what the fuzzy streaks flying down the sky are, you are brilliant! I racked my brain with it, and it would be a miracle if it panned out!

A little work in progress for my next drawing, the Flying Dutchman! I haven't been able to draw much lately, and I want to put a lot of effort in it, since this prompt was from my husband! 😊 I am learning at pace, and drawing water is tricky, hopefully I manage to improve it!

I can't believe it's already the 11th day of Artober!! 🍂
Is it getting chilly where you are?

Today's prompt is Hippogriff, so I have come up with a drawing of Buckbeak. Don't worry, nothing bad is going to happen, he's just going to Hagrid's to get treats! 😋

Now I know that the author is controversial to say the least, and I do not condone anything this person has said or done. That being said, I grew up reading Harry Potter. As a kid, it was one of my favourite novels, along with Roald Dahl's work. The first time I saw Buckbeak on screen, I was just wishing he was real. Hopefully I didn't butcher this drawing! 😆🙈
You can take a peek of my process in the next slides too. 😊

> All my drawings are watermarked but available to all for personal use.
> This is a fan art of Buckbeak and I do not own the rights for any characters.

Day 10 of Artober is here!! 😋🍂

I just couldn't make a list of prompts and not add a cinnamon roll. It's one of my favourite treats and I could eat it year round. 🤤 It's fluffy, it's full of cinnamon, it's just scrumptious! And it goes well with both tea and coffee. ☕

This time, I added a bit of the process in the next slides. I know the algorithm is pushing for reels but recording makes me feel rushed and it does look rushed in the end. It's not what IG wants but I prefer chill screenshots, so I'm doing that! 😄

*How about you, what's your favourite autumn treat? 🤗

The bats are here! 🦇

That's my 9th prompt, and to be honest, when it was time to draw I was quite uninspired. I put bats on my list but ended up starting my drawing over twice! 😅 I do love seeing bats, and they're such a blessing to have, yet, I couldn't be satisfied with how I was drawing them. So I started over, drew a simple silhouette and... duplicated it, then mirrored and used different sizes.🤫 Then I thought "hey, what if added some sleeping ones too?"
I'm glad this happened because in the end, this drawing taught me a lot!
It resisted me, and I wasn't sure I'd like it, but I tried to give it some love and it's a drawing I feel I managed to save. It's not perfect, but it's mine and I didn't give up. 😊
