Happy 1st birthday to @factorynoir's REPUTATION! 🥳🎉 Released on this day in 2025. Scoring this film (and official trailer - swipe to see) was so much fun! 🎬🎵 Working with the team was an absolute delight, and I'm proud to have been asked back by director Martin Law to score his next feature film, ASPHYXIA (release TBA) 🎞️🍿
Reputation hit number 8 in the @primevideo UK charts, up amongst some HUGE films. In great company! If dark crime drama is your thing, Reputation hits all the targets 📺👀

REPUTATION.

"Where the film really shines is in the performances. Nelson-Joyce gives Wes a genuine emotional core, making him more than just another scally on the edge, and Rowe’s Tommy crackles with unpredictable menace every time he’s on screen. Reputation is a short, sharp punch of a film – a slice of northern realism that pulls no punches and offers no easy answers."
@picstopixels

"For a debut feature, Martin Law’s direction is remarkably assured, displaying a confidence that bypasses youthful flash for something far more potent. He crafts a world that is grounded, gritty, and unflinching, a style that might be called kitchen-knife realism."

Great weekend in Cannes attending the Marché du Film for the first time. When people say they’re attending the Cannes Film Festival, this is often what they’re actually doing: Business. Grateful for everyone who took the time to meet, chat and watch the teaser for ASPHYXIA.

Feeling genuinely encouraged by the people I met and the response to the project so far. Now it’s back to work.

REPUTATION.

"A movie that much like This is England or Sweet Sixteen takes a true, tried and tested blueprint and cuts back on bells and whistles to make way for perfect casting, bold editing and some lingering shots that help to masterfully execute director Martin Law’s vision flawlessly."
@nerdly.co.uk

“Rowe’s ferocious performance feels horribly real, like an angry dysregulated little boy with a need to break anything he can’t have.”
@guardian

"Olivia Frances Brown brings warmth and resilience to Zoe — a character who could’ve been sidelined as a nagging partner but instead becomes the film’s emotional anchor."
@overlyhonestreviews

"Reputation is a great example of what British independent cinema has to offer. Martin Law gets so much right where so many others have fallen short. The atmosphere and tone are right on the money, the story is engaging and it never focuses too much on the violence. Law manages to instil the grit without giving up the sincerity."

That’s a wrap on Asphyxia, the second feature film from Factory Noir.

So proud of what we accomplished in just 11 days with an incredible cast and crew who brought so much talent, passion and grit to every moment.

At the centre of it all is a powerhouse performance from lead actress Genevieve Chenneour. Intense, fearless and emotionally raw in a role that demanded so much.

Very grateful to everyone who helped bring this independent feature film to life. Filmed on location in Halton, Lancashire at @supremeescapes Hermitage House.

Now onto the edit. More updates soon 🎥

“It’s a story about a woman who leaves everything behind. Not because she wants to disappear… but because she doesn’t know who she is without the silence.”

James Nelson-Joyce (This City Is Ours) and Olivia Frances Brown (Coronation Street) in REPUTATION. A gritty northern feature film.

“First-time director Martin Law shoots in a style that wavers between the gritty realism of Nicolas Winding Refn's Pusher films and the darker end of the British TV crime show spectrum.”
