Time to share the glory of the Bloomsday Film Festival Awards 2026!

Many thanks to @wildlight_media for capturing the magic moments and congratulations to all the winners!

Best Dublin Short Story
Winner: The Laughing Boys by Roisin Kearney and Caroline Grace-Cassidy

This deeply poetic elegy for St Teresa’s Gardens is delivered with warmth and humour and with clear-eyed recollection of difficult times past. Mary Murray’s engaging conversational style is a masterclass in authenticity, while the stark backdrops of boarded up flats speaks volumes. The writer, directors and actors all deserve high praise for this tribute to all those who lived, and laughed and loved and left St Teresa’s Gardens.

Sadly, today is our last event!

But we get to wrap up the festival at the wonderful IFI in Dublin!

At 6.30pm:
The Clouds are not Inaccessible/ Les Nuages ne sont pas Inaccessibles
By Deirdre Mulrooney

Followed by
René Clair’s 1924 film “Entr’act”

🎞️An unknown 1932 text by avant-garde artist Lucia Joyce plunges us into a phantasmagoric world of surreal creativity. Evanna Lynch leads a delightful and frightening odyssey from Lucia’s own exquisitely crafted lettrines, to a shamanic dance which launches her soul into a magical dimension where she demonstrates exactly how to reach the clouds…

🎞️René Clair’s Dadaist masterpiece, which premiered during the intermission of a Paris ballet in 1924, is emblematic of Lucia’s creative world. Her mentor Jean Börlin choreographs and appears alongside Man Ray, Francis Picabia, Marcel Duchamp and the film’s composer, Eric Satie.

Followed by a Q&A with Deirdre Mulrooney and Darina Gallagher, hosted by Katy Hayes

In partnership with James Joyce Centre

Festival-ing is hungry work !

We are delighted that our festival hub @memasdublin on Parnell St are very kindly offering complimentary pizzas to our hardworking volunteer team!🍕

Its great to have such a friendly, fun bar on our door-step for post (or pre!)festival shenanigans! And If you need a quick bite to eat before or after our events- we highly recommend the pizzas and the service is fast! 🕜

Its also listed as one of the Top Ten beer gardens in Dublin- we're praying the sun will come out for the rest of the festival!🌞

Huge thanks to Anne (pictured) and the Mema's team for their support!
