ہم آخر منا کیا رہے ہیں؟
What are we really celebrating?
Some questions are uncomfortable, and that’s exactly why we need to ask them.

This International Day of the Girl, we celebrate every girl who dares to learn, to dream and to lead, and we call on all of us to invest in girls, in their education and in their future.

A message by Malala Fund in collaboration with Faiz Foundation.

Getting all girls in school in Pakistan requires both the policy expertise to make the case to decision-makers and the cultural reach to mobilise the public.

Last month, @malalafundpakistan and @faizfoundation announced a partnership to advance girls’ education — drawing on Malala Fund's advocacy experience and the civic influence, cultural credibility and literary legacy of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated poets.

Nyla Daud reviews the book, “The Living Heritage of Hazara: An Ode to the Makers and Memory Keepers and The Culinary Heritage of Hazara: Exploring Hazara Cuisine Through Stories and Recipes” written by Amina Ali. The books are published by Faiz Foundation Trust and supported by the British Council Cultural Protection Fund in partnership with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

“Another chapter devoted to Hazara literature, brings together narratives of heroism, sacrifice, and renewal, with references to legendary heroes and mythical creatures from the epic poem Shahnameh by Persian writer Abul Qasim Ferdowsi (940-1025 CE). Literary themes reflecting morality and courage are also reflected in Hazara embroidery, jewellery design, and even lullabies, forming a cohesive visual and narrative tradition.” @shireen_kunj

Being part of Faiz Festival 2026 as a Gift & Collaboration Partner was truly a heartfelt experience. It wasn’t just about contributing gifts it was about standing with a platform that keeps the powerful legacy of Faiz Ahmed Faiz alive through words, dialogue, and meaningful conversations.

From thoughtful discussions to beautiful cultural moments, the atmosphere at Alhamra Arts Council felt inspiring and full of positive energy. Seeing writers, artists, and young minds come together under one roof reminded me why such platforms matter.

As a Gift Partner, it was a pleasure to present tokens of appreciation to the respected speakers and guests. As a Collaboration Partner, it was even more special to support and connect with a community that believes in expression, awareness, and change.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful. Looking forward to many more collaborations that celebrate art, literature, and powerful voices.
