What is a Legacy?

A (very) short film I made to deeper explore the idea of a Legacy. What do we remember and hold on to? How do we honour those that came before us? And can we shape our own legacy, or is it up to those who will say our names when we’re gone?

This film is made of footage of my family in the 60s; people I came to know through stories and old photographs. Houses and dogs and card games that I’ve never seen but somehow still live within me.

Ancestry is so special.

Mixed in with some imagery from our album, Legacy, and archival FJ footage.

All these feelings are burning bright while being on the cusp of motherhood.

Thanks for watching xo

Moonlight, headlights, the porch light at the motel. Bonfires, lighters, flashlights, spotlights.

What do we choose to shine light on? What reveals itself in the darkness?

Legacy is out now 📀

So many moments and memories created this album. So many questions and emotions.

It was an honour to explore these stories and turn these things into music.

Upcoming shows:
Thurs Sept 12 @monarchtavern with @nicolette_nobodies
Fri Sept 13 @heartwoodconcerthall with @nickcampbellofficial

Hi to the person who said Hello and to everyone else who didn’t!!

Thanks so much @thebellandbeacon for hosting us @patjeds for connecting us, and to all the friends and strangers who came out last minute !

Got to feel the full power of my scattered Virgo brain and the calming presence of the Falcon thru the plez rock - always love this duality ❤️

We have no other shows booked (besides a very special private one this Saturday) but we are verryyyy open to the idea! by @falcon_jane

BIG RESTOCK!! That’s right, boxes upon boxes of records- both Faith and Legacy, special edition gold sunset vinyl and outlaw pink vinyl available too!

I know a lot of ppl have a bunch of extra money right now so I thought it’d be nice to give ya something to spend it on!! 😝

DM me, or come to @thebellandbeacon tmrw night, or go to bandcamp (in a couple days when I update it hehe) and purchase one or several 💯

Always thankful for your everlasting love and support xo by @falcon_jane

I could thank the universe or my lucky stars, or chalk it up to destiny, but I think it’s more appropriate to thank friends doing good things and good people taking chances

@thebellandbeacon heard my “cry for help” (thank you endlessly @barryspritzer for sharing it - truly one of the kindest souls goin right now) and gave us the coveted 7-9pm slot on Saturday night!!

that means:
- all those practice hours going to good use!!
- I’m breaking out of maternity leave in style!!
- but still getting home at a decent hour to be with sweet Roy!!

Toronto friends- I hope to see you!! It is so crazy difficult to balance motherhood and musichood and I’m not tryna guilt you, but it may be a while before I’m back downtown xxx

thanks everyone taken in The Bell and The Beacon by @falcon_jane

Back in April of 2025 at the ever cool ever trippy @thegateway_experience 🌀

Had to reintroduce the synth on stage for our final two gigs. Leroy was the size of a turnip in my tummy and was rockin out all night 🫜

Missin this big time and very excited to kiss the stage again at @everdalefarm on Sept 19 for their Good Grass fest with @goodlot.beer 🌾🌾🌾 by @falcon_jane
