This one’s my fave 🥲

I wish we had all the time and money to make the music video that this song deserves, but it’s just not the season we’re in right now. So with our verryyyy limited time (1 hour??) and budget ($0!) we made this.

This song hit me so hard when I first heard it; my husband vowing to do whatever it takes to support our family: punching in, punching out, overnights in Oshawa, putting down the guitar and giving up the dream.

I would never ask him to do something that didn’t make him happy, but I loved the sentiment anyway. Plus I’ve always had visions of Andrew making music full time. Maybe one day 🤞

So rather than the lofty cinematic concepts I had spinning thru my mind when I listened to this song, we landed on this. A music video that captures a little slice of the “why” behind the song. A tiny portrait of our family (Layla included!). The reason so many people get up and go to work every day.

Filmed at the historic McArthur family farm, where Andrew’s “Old Pa” spent his childhood.

This music video accompanies the release of Andrew’s full album “Antique Power”! Streaming everywhere now!!

And please watch “Old Pa” on YouTube ❤️

Some nights bring you right back.

Judging the 2026 to 2027 Shelburne Fall Fair Ambassador Competition was such a special way to kick off fair weekend, especially because I still remember what it felt like to be the one standing up there competing.

President Kelsey Phillips opened the evening with a beautiful speech about what the fair has meant to her, followed by Mayor Wade Mills, Mayor Darren White, and visiting ambassadors from Collingwood and Erin.

Then came one of my favourite Shelburne Fair traditions.

The cake auction.

It raised money for the fair, brought plenty of laughs, and gave everyone a chance to settle in before the speech portion of the competition began.

While Shannon Galbraith, Meg Timmons, and I deliberated, Falcon Jane kept the room entertained with music and hopefully helped calm a few nerves along the way.

And then came the big moment.

Congratulations to Ruby Wallace, our new Junior Ambassador, and Molly Rogers, our new Senior Ambassador.

These two will represent the Shelburne Fall Fair throughout the coming year, starting proudly this weekend at the 159th Shelburne Fall Fair.

Years later, I still look back on my own time competing with so much affection, and I hope these girls will someday feel the same way about this night.

The fair is only getting started.

Come out this weekend, support the community, meet our new ambassadors, and see what makes the Shelburne Fall Fair such a special tradition year after year.

It’s been a whole year since we released Legacy!!

This album has brought so much joy into my life. Every part was so fun: writing it, recording it, performing it.

Being silly making music videos, dirty-doggin, oh-my-god-ing, owning the goddang road.

Putting together outfits, trying on cowboy hats, going to places we’ve never been before.

I got to play characters and reconnect with my roots, revisiting family legends and the dirt road I grew up on.

We even made a trucker video game 🤯

Thanks to everyone who played a role in this album; you are so appreciated and loved.

Had the pleasure of playing this classic country gospel song at High Country United Church on our one year anniversary ✨

Felt very relevant!!

Thank you lord/universe/spirit for alllll the blessings; like giving me a husband who can harmonize, and little harmony junior on the way.
And all the food on my table and shoes on my feet too.

This song has been stuck in my head all year - only sometimes swapping out with “One Day At A Time” haha

Not sure we’ll bring these holy church vibes to our gigs this weekend 🤷 but bound to be sacred and special no matter what.

Which one of you is chugging back the Canada Dry with this song on repeat????

Love seeing these little cuties doing all our fave things: frisbee, river swimming, playing our instruments in a random field.
