POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

EDIT: I made an oopsie on my bingo board! I accidentally used one of my spaces twice- the free space& the second to last space. Therefore I am changing the second to last space “Bookish Awards Being Called Out For Whitewashing” to “Bookish Events Being Called Out For Whitewashing”. Similar but not the same exact thing.

I’m pretty sure some of these have already happened and we are only two months into 2026 🫣. I am pretty sure I’m going to fill this whole card up, but I know I’ll definitely get at least one bingo! If anyone else wants to play along or make their own bookish drama bingo cards, feel free! Tagging a few people who I think should join in.

QOTD: What’s one bookish drama that would be on your 2026 bingo card?

I meant to post this last month, but as always I’m super late to post it 🫣. These are my bookish goals for the year! Trying to slow down a bit and not worry so much about hitting a specific number goal this year. Also hoping I can actually stick to posting more regularly so I can grow my account this year.

QOTD: What are some of your bookish goals for 2026?

QOTD: Do you use the 5 star rating scale to rate your books?

I try to use it with the addition of half stars and my elusive 6th star rating that only goes to so many books. The 6 star books are for my absolute favorite books of all time. I’ll add extra slides to this/update this at a later date to be more in depth but for now I wanted to get this up.

QOTD: What’s on your June Hopefuls?

I’m currently reading and LOVING The Second Death of Locke by @toribovalino and I’m hoping to get to more LGBTQ friendly reads this month. The only other things on my June Hopefuls are The Shadow Rising and The Poet Empress.

QOTD: What kind of magic is your favorite in books?

I loooove books with necromancy or bone magic. One of my favorites recently was Bonesmith by Nikki Pau Preto. I still need to read the sequel 😩. Hopeless Necromantic looks like a perfect summer read. Thanks so much for sending me my early review copy @orbitbooks_us 🖤

SYNOPSIS:
SHE RAISES HELL. HE RAISES THE DEAD. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

When new recruit Helspira takes on the doomed mission that no other soldier wants, life—and death—start to get a little complicated. Helspira must play escort to Sikras—a frustratingly handsome necromancer with the power to raise the dead—as he attempts a mission that he’s failed twice before; stopping an undead army at the edges of the kingdom.

No one thinks he will succeed. Not even Sikras. But the more time the two spend together, the more they find they can imagine a brighter future. As secrets come out and the two grow closer—and Sikras’s lively skeleton companion Benjamin tries desperately not to be a third wheel—will Sikras’ and Helspira’s changing feelings for each other be enough to overcome the growing danger?

RAISE A GLASS. RAISE THE DEAD. JUST DON’T RAISE YOUR HOPES.

QOTD: Tell me something fun you plan on doing this weekend! Or do you know what series starts like this?

I just started reading this series and the first line starts off the same in each entry to the series. I finally got book 4 in the mail so I can’t wait to dive into it!

QOTD: What did you do over the weekend?

Finally, another round of updates that’s taken me days to complete! I could’ve used both of these for two different squares but decided they fit the squares they landed on the most. I’m sure I’ll hit a bingo with just the updates I have! The bookish drama is always going 🫠

QOTD: What are some June releases on your TBR?

Thanks so much to @orbitbooks_us for sending me an early copy of The Tinder Box by M.R. Carey. I loved The Girl With All The Gifts by this author and this book sounds even more my kind of read than that was. Get your hands on this beauty 6/23/2026!

SYNOPSIS: In a kingdom forgotten by history, a legend unfolds …
Wounded in his county’s endless wars, former soldier Mag Tresti finds work in the home of a reclusive widow, Jannae Mirchella. But Jannae is more than she seems. A witch of great skill and might, she hides her powers and her deep-laid plans behind a mask of harmless respectability.
When a dead demon falls out of the sky, the fates of the soldier and the witch are irrevocably intertwined. On the demon’s body Mag finds a tinderbox—an artefact of terrifying magical power that can not only grant his every wish, but also change the fate of nations.
This is a tale of spellcraft and devilry, of witchcraft and trickery—of the wickedness that resides within a few, the goodness that lies deep within us all, and the choices on which our lives turn.

QOTD: Have you had any slumps yet this year?

As you can see, I have tons of posts I need to catch up on because I was not only in my first big slump for reading, but also with posting 🫠. Here is the evidence of my slump months! I hope to post my Q1 Wrapped soon.

QOTD: Have you found anything amazing at a little free library if they have them near you?

I have found some real gems and unicorns in my local @littlefreelibrary - the UK ARC of Daughter of the Moon Goddess, and countless great books. I have a couple favorites I’ll always stop at and there are plenty that are dedicated to kids and reading diversely. Unfortunately a lot of them have hardly anything in them and what they do have is super outdated or bad condition or just not anything that most people would want. I would loooove to become a steward! I am hoping I can put one of my own up somewhere in my community since I’m currently renting and can’t put one up here.
