Protest Without Fear: TONIGHT ✊

I've noticed that so many of us care deeply about what's happening, but there's a real reluctance when it comes to showing up. Attending, sharing, standing up for our rights. And honestly? I get it. That's exactly why I think we need to talk about it.

Tonight I'm hosting a free online panel to table that conversation, openly and honestly. Protest is lawfully our right, and naming the fear is how we move past it, together.

I'm so grateful to the panellists, who are each doing their part in their own way:

✨ Dr Saya Aziz, our special guest and wild card panellist, a medical doctor who has just returned from her second humanitarian mission overseas
⚖️ Rita Jabri-Markwell, a lawyer, leader and advocate who has spent her career at the intersection of law, policy and community advocacy
✊ Omar Farooq, mobilising young people through BDS Youth Magandjin

📅 Tonight, Friday 9 October, 7pm Brisbane time (AEST)
💻 Free, online via Zoom
🔗 Register via the link https://events.humanitix.com/protest-without-fear

And then let's show up together. Sunday 11 October, 3pm, Queens Gardens, Magan-djin / Brisbane 🚩

Please join us tonight, and share this with someone who's been sitting on the fence 🤍

Doesn't life begin with a clinging clot of blood?

Surah Al Alaq was the beginning of the revelation to Nabi Muhammad sallahu alayhi wa Salam (peace and blessings be upon him)

It's disgusting, but this overall strategy and understanding of our humanitarian and political climate needs to be known.

It could happen to us, to our countries.

Lunch time sing-alongs at the microwave, while my food is warming.

Feeling grateful to be alive, to have a voice, to use my voice, to breathe.

Giving myself some good time feelings when things can sometimes feel a little cloudy. I hope you feel them good feelings through this reel, too ✨️ by @far.fortune
