Celebrate 365 days of Farfalla with us!!! Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel🥹

Oh but the story of @farfallacollective spans much beyond just 1 year…

Back in December 2021, our life took a drastic unexpected turn. We closed on 22 acres of land, and got engaged the very next day! We bought this land with the vision to create 18 unique spaces. By spring 2022, we were ready to build—but after trying and failing to hire a contractor, we were stumped. A year went by, and we got distracted… turns out planning a wedding, getting permits/power/water, gdot entry, and backpacking Europe for work didn’t allow much time for the land.

In spring of 2023 we knew it was time to get serious if we ever wanted our dream to happen. We quit our jobs, moved to the mountains, and began building our dream. Little did we know what we were getting into…. If we knew how impossibly hard starting Farfalla would be I know for sure we wouldn’t have gone through with it. Thankfully ignorance is bliss and by a miracle we obtained permits and began the 8 months sun up to sun down building journey.

Construction started before we even had electricity, water, or a road on the land. We were using electric tools until they died, then hand tools and water from our small spring about 1,000 feet away. Safe to say things were moving ~slowly!

Our first dome at Farfalla, the Farfalla Dome, opened to guests on October 13th, 2023. After a short break, we jumped right back in, launching our second dome, the Green Dome, on March 9th, 2024. We didn’t waste any time, and by June 8th, 2024, we launched our third rental—the Treehouse Window Loft.

The biggest question we had during construction? ‘How was Farfalla going to do?’ Well, in just one year, we’ve welcomed guest with 572 nights booked, with an occupancy rate of 84%, and 98.7% of our reviews being five stars. We’ve even made it to Airbnb wishlists 11,334 times!

We couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from our friends, family, and our amazing Sautee community. This small town has some of the best people we’ve ever known, and we’re so grateful to be a part of it💓 taken in Farfalla Collective by @farfallacollective
