Who would’ve thought a Balochi indie song could blend so beautifully with Saharan blues on a random day in Berlin? ❤️

SARKASH سرکش UNDERGROUND TAKE-OVER

Ahead of Sarkash سرکش Underground on 1 August we dive into the festival celebrating rap, trap, and experimental sounds from Afghanistan, Balochistan, and Kashmir. Sarkash is dari for „rebellious“ and “defiant”.

In the first half, co-founders Zolfar Hassib (@jet.asti) and Armeghan Taheri (@worldwideweb300) reflect on the political significance of music at a time when it is banned in Afghanistan, while also showcasing the artists featured in the festival’s line-up. Later, Zolfar is joined by Farhad Bal0ch (@farhadbal0ch), who gives us a sneak peek of their set, weaving together and connecting the worlds they carry into their sound. Enjoy!

We continue our line up with one of the gems that shaped the idea of Back2Bledi @farhadbal0ch
FARHÀD BALOCH is a first-generation refugee who has lived in Germany since 2016. They began DJing during the COVID-19 pandemic in Göttingen, driven by a desire to challenge a predominantly white techno scene and create spaces where Black, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities could connect through music, dance, and shared struggles.

Now based in Berlin, Farhàd’s sets draw from experiences across borders, cultures, and languages, moving between hip-hop, grime, drill, bass music, rhythmic club sounds, Afro-tech, Brazilian funk, and folk traditions from South Asia, the Middle East, and Balochistan.

Farhàds music reflects the people, places, languages, histories, and cultures that have shaped their journey and continue to inspire them today. taken in Berlin, Deutschland by @farhadbal0ch

Our next artist is an incredible DJ based in Berlin whose sets carry the power of connecting multiple worlds. We are excited to welcome unique sounds to the dancefloor that dissolve borders. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our sibling: 𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐇Á𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐇.

I’m Farhád Baloch @farhadbal0ch , a first-generation refugee living in Germany since 2016. I started my DJ journey in Göttingen, where the electro music scene was largely white techno. So, I decided to introduce different sounds while creating spaces for marginalized communities to connect through music, dance, and shared struggles.

Now based in Berlin, I carry multiple worlds into every set. Growing up between borders, cultures, and languages shaped my identity and sound. I blend hip-hop, grime, drill, bass music, Afro-tech, Brazilian funk, and folk influences from South Asia, the Middle East, and Balochistan.

My music reflects the people, places, languages, and histories that have shaped my journey and continue to inspire me today.

XOXO

2025 did not pass gently.
It arrived with love
and stayed with loss.

I learned that grief is not weakness
it is proof that I dared to love fully.
I learned that resistance is not loud
sometimes it is simply choosing to remain.

I mourned. I broke. I changed. I rebuilt.
I carried sadness in my bones
and still let music move my body.
I let laughter find me with my beloved people
even when my heart was tired.

I lost people, places, and versions of myself
I thought I would keep forever.
And in the ruins, I found something steady:
my ability to begin again.

I leave this year softer, braver, unfinished.
Carrying memory, love, and fire
into whatever comes next. by @farhadbal0ch
