¡Hi! It's my bday this week, and I'm celebrating by sharing new work — with you, and with any queer film nerds who'd like to partake in the 11-minute journey that is my new short film.
Muerde Sin Miedo came to me during a hot, steamy hookup under the moonlight on the beaches of Puerto Rico. There I was, sand on my knees, gagging on desire and rage. And then I wondered… where does all of this go? Does it disappear into the depths of the soil? Does it get washed away by the ocean? Will this forest remember? Will it recognize me?
I felt a tinge of excitement during my post-nut clarity. What if, epigenetically, the land could remind us of our rage? Force us to embody it? What if it could take over our bodies and fight for the land we've always called home?
I remembered being a lil baby gay learning about Diego Salcedo's drowning at the hands of Taínos, set to prove their colonizers were NOT immortal. And so they did. And so they fought back. We still fight today — we find ways to escape and resist and thrive. We find new ways to fuck and be and believe. All of that lives in our bodies, and in the body of the land that remembers it so well.
Muerde Sin Miedo is an experimental queer retelling of the death of Salcedo at the hands of Indigenous Taínos from Boriken, told through the encounter of three homos whose desire morphs into rage as the waters witness history repeat itself.
I want to thank all my friends, family, and lovers who made this possible — from hookup, to shoot, to screen. You were all part of this journey.

¡Hola!

¿Me reconocerá?

Jamaican Summer Table at Eliza! 🌿✨

This dinner was a deeply special moment for me; bringing dishes I’ve been dreaming, developing, and building on for some time to life here in Kingston. Through food, I get to remember, preserve, and honor the worlds that have shaped me while continuing to explore them through my own creative expression.

I’m so grateful to everyone who came out, shared a table, supported, celebrated, and helped make the night what it was! Thank youuu to the collective spirit that filled the room with so much love, to the drummers, @sperosounds who filled the space with rhythm and spirit , and to every person who brought their presence and energy into the evening ✨

A huge thank youuu to everyone @eliza.bistro for trusting me with your amazing space and to Chef @needsmorebutter Chef @wrap_skallion and TEAM helping bring this vision to life, and to @farifos for capturing these moments so beautifully.

A week later, I’m still reflecting on all that was created, the stories shared, the connections formed, and the reminder of why I continue to create through food🥹✌🏾🇯🇲🌊

Here’s to more thoughtFUL meals, stories, and moments shared wherever we gather xx taken in Kingston, New York by @farifos

NEW DATE! The heat storm has broken and we’re on for our Poets in Translation reading this Thursday, July 9th at El Jardin de Santa Cecilia Gentili, co-ogranized with viento izquierdo ugaz and Cristóbal Guerra, who will be reading with Gabriel Carle and Noa Mendoza.

The garden includes a path that connects different areas of the site and offers an alternative to the stairs for wheelchair users and other mobility devices. A portable restroom will be available on site.

This exquisites reading is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council. This event is also funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. by @farifos
