Most people think farmers just produce food.

That’s not the whole truth.

Farmers are keepers.
Of soil.
Of seed.
Of memory.

They remember what the rest of us forgot:
how to live in rhythm with a place.

At @farmhandfoundation, our role is simple.

Stand beside them.
Back them.
Be useful—like any good farmhand should.

This film is a thank you.

A reminder that growers of every size are connected, and that the hands that feed us deserve to be seen, celebrated + honored.

Deep gratitude to all farmers, especially those who chose to be in this film! May we continue to farm, laugh, tell stories and eat together for years to come

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Week, we planted cempasúchil at our farm in Ojai!

These orange beauties have been cultivated by Indigenous peoples for centuries to help guide the spirits of loved ones home.

Big shout-out to Shannon Myers + Christopher Fiorello at Midpoint Organics, Ojai’s first and only organic veggie seedling nursery, for growing these stunners and helping us get them in the ground!

We’re hoping to have our field of marigolds ready for U-pick on 11/11. Stay tuned! by @farmhandfoundation

Behind every farm are the hands, heart, and hard work that bring it to life.

At @farmhandfoundation, as a 5th generation farmer, Chris is helping turn our mission of reconnecting farms, food + community into something we can all touch, taste, and experience.

From building healthy soil and restoring native habitat to tending our olive grove, growing food, and welcoming community onto the land, Chris is helping transform our farm into a living example of what's possible when we care for the land and each other.

Because regenerative agriculture isn't just about how we grow food. It's about how we grow relationships, with the soil beneath our feet, the ecosystems around us, and the people who call this place home.

We're grateful to have Chris's hands, knowledge, and heart helping bring this vision to life.

On Indigenous Peoples Day, we take the time to honor those who came before us to steward the land, waters, and greater ecosystem that we now steward. Our work at @farmhandfoundation is rooted in the intersection of Traditional Indigenous Knowledge, western science, and curiosity.

We are grateful to learn from people like Elena and John, as we work together on a cultural burn project.

When Indigenous cultural fire practitioners, regenerative farmers, and scientists come together for a cultural burn in Ojai, California, an ancient practice becomes a blueprint for restoring the land, and a reminder that the way forward is together.

The hands in the soil. The early mornings. The hard work of growing something that matters.

This National Farmers Day, we’re tipping our hats (and raising our cans) to the people who feed our communities, care for our land, and remind us that a better food system starts at the roots.

We’re farmer-founded, soil-obsessed, and forever in their corner. Because when we take care of the people who take care of the earth, we all grow a little better.

Here’s to the mad farmers making a difference, with soil in their hands and a lot of soul in their heart.

DIRT APPRECIATES FUNDING. That’s what DAF should stand for, right? Instead of Donor-Advised Fund.

We actually prefer DOLLARS ACTUALLY FARMING.

But farmers don’t need another acronym. They need healthy soil, fewer forms, and actual funding.

At @farmhandfoundation, we’re putting dollars to work. Which means today (and every day), we’ve invited DAF-ers to come spend the day with us.

A murmuration is a reminder that connection can create something bigger than any one of us.

That’s the work we do at @farmhandfoundation

We reconnect farms, food + community. We bring farmers closer to the people who eat their food, communities closer to the land that feeds them, and all of us closer to the ecosystems we depend on.

Like a murmuration, there’s no single solution or single leader. We listen, respond, adapt, and move together.

Because when farms, food, ecosystems, and communities are connected, the whole system becomes more resilient.

Big thanks to our friends at @peakdesign for providing us with something every nonprofit needs: general operating funds.

Your support gives us the flexibility to do the work where food, farming, community, and climate meet: helping farmers build healthier soils, restore biodiversity, conserve water, relocalize food access, and test regenerative practices on our own farm so that we can help other farms become more resilient in a changing climate.

Thank you, Peak Design, for investing in the work behind the work, keeping us reconnecting farms, food + community. by @farmhandfoundation

Sunflower season gave us a different kind of harvest.

Not everything worth measuring fits neatly into a spreadsheet.

Some of our metrics looked like:

🌻 Smiles between rows of sunflowers.

🌱 Rematriated soils beneath our feet.

🐝 Biodiverse habitat for our non-human kin.

👶 Toddlers in diapers wandering through the fields.

These are the metrics that matter to us.

Because a farm can produce more than a crop.

- It can restore soil.
- Create habitat.
- Hold joy.
- Bring humans back into relationship with the land.

The sunflowers were beautiful, yes.

But the real harvest was everything that grew around them.

Thank you, community and friends for showing up at our farm for sunflower season. Marigolds are next - get ready!
