We are delighted to introduce our new Solicitor Apprentice for 2026, as well as some familiar faces…

This year marks an exciting milestone for Farrer & Co, as our very first Solicitor Apprentices, Megan McCaffrey and Keeley Barnes, join the rest of the 2026 trainee cohort. Beginning their training contracts in their fifth year at the firm is the final stage of their six-year apprenticeship programme before qualifying as solicitors.

We also welcome Robert Kaye, who joins the firm as our new Solicitor Apprentice.

We asked Meg and Keeley to reflect on their time as apprentices and share what they are most excited about as they begin their new chapter as trainees. At the end of his first week, Rob shared his first impressions of the firm, what surprised him most and what he is looking forward to during his apprenticeship.

Rhian Lewis, Head of Pro Bono and Counsel, has been appointed to the Attorney General's International Rule of Law Committee, representing law firms committed to pro bono work.

The committee brings together representatives from across the legal profession to support the rule of law globally, by increasing impact across the UK pro bono community working internationally.

Rhian says: "It is a privilege to have been selected to join the Attorney General's International Rule of Law Committee. I have been selected as one of the representatives for the law firms that dedicate time to pro bono legal volunteering each year. I look forward to helping to facilitate collaboration between law firms, the Bar, the judiciary and charities that provide pro bono services internationally."

We were delighted to attend City Century Live in Birmingham, delivered in partnership with Young Professionals, to support aspiring lawyers and those considering a career in the legal profession.

Rebecca Reese spoke on a panel, sharing insights into a career in law, and Amna Mushtaq represented Farrer & Co on the networking stand, meeting students and answering questions about opportunities at the firm and the different routes into the profession.
