question at end too
Midlife isn’t about doing it perfectly. It’s about learning what your body needs now, getting stronger, supporting your hormones, and taking care of yourself through every change.

Some days I feel strong. Some days I’m adjusting as I go. But I’m still showing up and that counts.

If you’re navigating perimenopause too, follow @fastingforher for real-life motivation, hormone aligned wellness, fasting, and strength after 40. 💪🏾

What’s ONE thing perimenopause has you trying to figure out right now?

Your health journey was never designed to carry the weight of your identity.

Because if your worth lives in your results, what happens when the scale doesn’t move?

What happens when your body changes in a way you didn’t expect? When you miss the workout, shorten the fast, or walk through a season where progress feels slow?

You start treating a health outcome like a verdict on who you are.

Friend, your worth is far too valuable to put somewhere that unstable.

Pursue better health. Build the muscle. Make the nourishing choice. Practice discipline. Take care of the body God entrusted to you.

But remember: none of those things make you more worthy.

Your health journey can change your habits, your strength, your energy, and your body.

It does not get to determine your value. God already settled that.

Steward your body. Don’t ask it to prove your worth.

Follow @FastingForHer and save this for more faith-filled encouragement as we transform the body, mind, and spirit. 💜

Maybe the goal was never just to lose the weight.

Maybe it was to become a woman who takes care of what God entrusted to her, with discipline, wisdom, strength, and grace.

I don’t want my health journey to be driven by punishment, comparison, or a number on the scale. I want it rooted in stewardship.

To nourish my body well.
To move because I’m grateful I can.
To build strength for the life I’m called to live.
To practice discipline without making my body my identity.

Because the goal isn’t simply a smaller body.

It’s becoming healthier, stronger, and more aligned, mind, body, and spirit.

Your body is something to care for, not something to punish. And your health journey doesn’t have to be about perfection. It can be about learning to steward what God has given you with wisdom and grace.

Follow @fastingforher for faith-centered strategies for fasting, metabolic health, and becoming your strongest self.

DAY 3 ✅ | 18 MORE TO GO
No Excuses. Stay the Course.

“You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to remember what you committed to.”

Scripture:
“Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.” — James 1:22

Day 3 of the Do It Anyway Challenge is complete.

And today’s reminder is simple:

Your feelings don’t get the final vote.

Some days you’re going to feel motivated.
Some days you won’t.
Some days you’ll have energy.
Some days you’ll have every excuse in the world.

But when you’ve already made the commitment, you don’t have to keep renegotiating with yourself.

You just show up.

That’s what this challenge is teaching me consistency isn’t about doing what feels good in the moment. It’s about keeping the promise even when the feeling changes.

Knowing what to do isn’t enough.
Talking about it isn’t enough.
At some point, you have to do it.

So whatever you committed to for these 21 days, don’t let today’s mood talk you out of tomorrow’s results.

Day 3 down. 18 to go. 🔥

We talk a lot about how long to fast.

But we don’t talk enough about what happens when the fast is over.

Especially after a longer fasting window, how you break your fast matters too. Instead of going straight from “nothing” to a huge, heavy meal, think about easing your body back into nourishment.

It doesn’t have to mean adding another complicated set of rules.

Fasting and nourishment are partners.

Break your fast gently. Choose foods that feel supportive and nourishing, then move into a balanced meal with protein, healthy fats, and nourishing carbohydrates that work for your body.

And just as important, don’t treat that first meal like a reward for being “good.”

You didn’t earn your food.

You’re simply moving from one part of the rhythm into the next.

The fast matters.

But so does the way you land. 💜

You planned the fast beautifully.

You knew exactly when you’d stop eating. You set the timer. You knew when your eating window would open.

Then the fast ends…

And suddenly you’re standing in the kitchen hungry, unprepared, and grabbing whatever you can find.

That’s why I want you to start planning something besides the fasting window:

Plan the landing.

Before you’re hungry, decide what you’ll break your fast with.

What’s your protein? What will make the meal nourishing and satisfying? Do you actually have the food available?

This isn’t about becoming more rigid. It’s about making the decision before hunger is making it for you.

We spend so much time planning how to stop eating that we sometimes forget to plan how we’ll start again.

Don’t just prepare for the fast. Prepare for the meal that ends it.

DAY 2 ✅ | 19 MORE TO GO
No Excuses. Stay the Course.

“You don’t build discipline on the days you feel like it. You build it on the days you decide to keep going anyway.”

Scripture:
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” — Hebrews 12:1

Day 2 of the Do It Anyway Challenge is complete.

And this is exactly why I started this challenge.

Not to prove that I can be perfect for 21 days.
Not to chase motivation.
But to practice showing up when the excitement wears off.

Today I got it done.

Another ride.
Another stretch.
Another ab routine.
Another promise kept.

That’s what this is really about building the habit of following through.

Because anybody can start.

The question is:
Will you stay the course when it stops feeling new?

If you’re doing this challenge with me, keep going. Don’t worry about doing it perfectly. Just keep showing up.

Tired?
Busy?
Not in the mood?

Do it anyway.

Day 2 down. 19 to go. 🔥

Before you call yourself lazy or lacking discipline, pause and listen to what your body needs.

Sometimes strength looks like pushing forward. Sometimes it looks like resting and recovering.

You don’t have to punish yourself to make progress. 💜

Before you tell yourself, “I just need to get motivated,” check your body first.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t that you need another inspirational quote.

You may need sleep.
You may need recovery.
You may need a more nourishing meal.
You may need enough protein and overall energy to support your training.

Or maybe you’ve been fasting longer while asking your body to train harder, and those two strategies simply aren’t working well together right now.

This doesn’t mean every low-energy day is caused by under-fueling or poor recovery. Sometimes we really do need to get up and get moving.

But I don’t want women automatically turning every struggle into a discipline problem.

Your body can’t run on motivation alone.

Learn when to push. Learn when to recover. And make sure you’re giving your body what it needs to do what you’re asking of it.

That’s not weakness. That’s learning to listen to your body and steward it with wisdom. 💜
