To the 31-year-old Fazlie,
Thank you for making it this far.
Life has a way of unfolding in chapters, and with every chapter, we meet a different version of ourselves. There was once a boy who had no idea where life was taking him, yet he remained excited about what the future might hold. The road wasn't always smooth, but every challenge came with a lesson, and every lesson quietly shaped the person you were becoming.
Looking back, I realise every version of myself had a purpose. They all led me to someone I can genuinely be proud of. And I hope that person can one day look back and simply say, "I've lived a good life."
I've come to believe that a life lived with passion, guided by compassion, is one of the greatest definitions of a fulfilling life. You made mistakes and learnt from them. You said yes to new experiences, even when you didn't know how they would end. You chose to put yourself out there, knowing people might judge, misunderstand, or criticise you—but you showed up anyway.
If there's one lesson every chapter has taught me, it's this: be authentic. You don't have to be everyone's idea of a good person, and that's okay. What matters is staying true to your values, your purpose, and the things you hold dear. Authenticity isn't about pleasing everyone; it's about having the courage to live a life that feels true to who you are.
Here's to 31. Another chapter to write with curiosity, courage, passion, and compassion. And wherever life leads next, I hope I never lose the willingness to become someone I've never been before. taken in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia by @fazrunfar

Muallim Cross Country Run 2026
50KM | 1500m EG (Suunto) | 5:44:58

One of the best things about returning to a race you’ve done before is getting to see how much you’ve grown over the years.

The last time I ran Muallim, I remember being so conscious of not making drama in my head and not giving in to the mental battles that used to hit hard during races. This time, it felt different. Same route, same distance, but a very different version of me.

The biggest challenge this week was honestly my health. I’ve been dealing with on and off fever for the past few weeks, so a lot of effort went into trying to recover while still showing up and getting the work done.

The route this year was a really nice mix of runnable sections and technical trails, which made it a solid training ground for CULTRA.

Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout the race, especially Osama, for taking the time to chat and send good wishes before the run and thank you @harimaumalaya for the slot. Really appreciate it. See you guys at the next one 🤍 taken in Tanjung Malim by @fazrunfar

First run, first impressions. 👀

The "Unnamed Trail Shoes" feels incredibly lightweight, nimble, and surprisingly stable. The upper mesh is comfortable and breathable, and the energy return really comes alive on the more runnable sections.

Can’t wait to put more miles into these. 🙌🏻

The pop-up is only here until 28 June 2026, so don’t miss your chance to check it out at the West Lobby, Mid Valley Megamall.

IAU Asia & Oceania 24H Championships 2026

Like Courtney Dauwalter once said," I hope there's never a race that I can call a perfect race." Truly, in some races you win by achieving your target, and in some races, you win through the experience and what you learn from it. Looking back, it never even crossed my mind that one day I would be able to compete at this level.

Where do I even start for what is, if not the biggest event of my running career?

From the disappointment of initially failing to qualify, to being given a chance by the team based on my performances in three consecutive events. Training was going well for a few weeks, but work and sponsor commitments started to get hectic, especially work. In a way, I traded some training mileage for event mileage.

Going into the race, I honestly didn't know what to expect. I knew it was towards the end of spring, and people always say Japan can be quite hot, but that's usually not the case in the northern part. This was my first time racing in a cold-climate country, and I knew I was in trouble from the start when I couldn't warm up properly. My muscles were practically stiff early in the race, and it started affecting my IT band. I couldn't afford to stop for too long, so I just kept running.

As night came, it got colder and colder. At one point, I couldn't even open my energy gels or SaltStick capsules because my hands were freezing. I refused to layer up until the crew practically forced me to stop. They got me to change clothes, wear tights, gloves, and heat patches before continuing.

Around the 100 km mark, I started feeling pain in my right ankle. I pushed through and kept moving until around 130 km. When I finally took off my shoe, I noticed the swelling. I could walk with less pain, but it was so cold that standing or walking slowly would make me freeze. At the same time, I couldn't run properly because every step was painful.
