Thanks so much to everyone who came out for today's Bird With Pride walk and helped raise some funds for @montpelier.pride!
This great crew of bird enthusiasts observed 38 species by sight and sound! Highlights include a female Common Merganser in a tree, a pair of cutie Eastern Kingbirds, a vocalizing Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, and lots of warbs 😊
Stay tuned for more outings later this year!

Our resident celebrity, the Glossy Ibis, was spotted trailing after a Mallard and two fledglings. I was lucky enough to see a Solitary Sandpiper also sneaking around the mud flats (thanks to K for pointing it out!). But best of all, I happened to run into a couple of birders from @fbc.nvt! Earlier that afternoon, I ran into a local birder who helpfully pointed out the Ibis when I’d assumed it was totally out of view. The community that has gathered around this unexpected youngster is just awesome. taken in Montpelier, Vermont by @fbc.nvt

@queerbirders.btv and @fbc.nvt are teaming up at @vtqueercrafts on August 2nd to show you that birds are around all day, not just at the crack of dawn. Join us at 2:00 at the Welcome Tent for a beginner friendly wander around the perimeter of the fest. We’ll check out Barre’s afternoon bird scene and any other flora and fauna that sparks joy along the way. Bring binoculars if you have them, otherwise we’ll have some to lend, and folks can share. All are welcome, we’ll decide together where to go or whether to do a sit spot (seated or stationary) outing based on the group’s mobility needs.
@queerbirders.btv is a group for birders of all skill levels! From first timers to life longers, about once a month we get together and explore around Northwest Vermont. 100% of outings feature cool birds to meet and queer joy to be shared. @fbc.nvt is also a group for birders of all skill levels! We’re dedicated to creating accessible birding outings around Northern Vermont four to six times a year that fundraise for local organizations we love. Both groups are full of inclusive and affirming people to play outside with!

Our May outing was too rainy for great birding, so we're trying again! We're partnering with Migrant Justice for this do-over outing at Delta Park. Registration is required and your suggested $10 donation (via cash or venmo) goes to their programs supporting our Vermont immigrant farmworker community. We'll be birding around the parking lot, driftwood beach, and bike path. Link in our bio to sign up, including an accessibility review of Delta Park. @feministbirdclub @migrantjusticevt Graphic for FBC:NVT outing taken in Delta Park by @fbc.nvt

We picked up a bunch of litter and saw: Great Blue Heron, Caspian Tern, Red-Winged Blackbird, Canada Goose, Downy Woodpecker, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Mallard, American Crow, White-Breasted Nuthatch, and Northern Cardinal. Did I miss anyone? Updates: Yellow Warbler and Song Sparrow, too! taken in Delta Park, Colchester VT by @fbc.nvt
