In 2025, a total of 10,629 children were reported missing to police across New York State – 94% were reported as runaways. For over 140 years, FCA has operated Nassau Haven, Nassau County’s only 24/7 emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth.

FCA recently collaborated with our fellow providers on the Long Island Missing Child Rescue Operation. Over 100 professionals and 40 organizations joined forces on the three-day operation to locate 34 children and teens reported missing and connect them with relevant services. In addition to our emergency shelter, FCA offers case management, mental health resources, educational and vocational assistance, and clinical interventions designed to support runaway youth as they re-build their lives.

We are proud to stand together with our fellow service providers to bring children to safety. Thank you to @nysdcjs , @childrenandfamilyservices , @ncptf , and @nyspolice for leading this important initiative and our partners Child Advocacy Center of Nassau County, @eacnet , @keybridgesmiles , and Nassau County Department of Social Services.

Friday night at East End THRIVE, our community gathered for our monthly Gong Therapy Session. An evening of sound, breath and stillness offers a chance to slow down, settle the nervous system and reconnect. Practices like this can be a meaningful part of recovery, creating space for regulation, reflection and connection.

As Recovery month came to a close, our Family Treatment and Recovery Centers celebrated our clients at the Recovery Milestone Ceremony!

We recognized our clients for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to recovery. Their journeys continue to inspire FCA’s clinicians and remind us that recovery is possible.
