Before I became Town Supervisor, I served as President of the Manhasset Community Coalition Against Substance Abuse (CASA), and I’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak, fear, and uncertainty that substance misuse can bring to families. That’s why I’m so passionate about bringing these conversations into our communities. We cannot be afraid to talk about substance use—the conversations we have today can help protect our children and save lives tomorrow. Join us for this FREE 3-part series as we bring together experts, law enforcement, and community partners to give families honest information, practical tools, and resources. Let’s have the conversation. Let’s support one another. And let’s protect our families. 💜 #DrugAwarenessSeminar #Free #3PartSeries #TownOfNorthHempstead #KeepOurCommunitiesSafe

Friday night at East End THRIVE, our community gathered for our monthly Gong Therapy Session. An evening of sound, breath and stillness offers a chance to slow down, settle the nervous system and reconnect. Practices like this can be a meaningful part of recovery, creating space for regulation, reflection and connection. Thank you to our facilitator and to everyone who joined us. These monthly offerings sit alongside the core of what we do at THRIVE: men’s and women’s groups, 12-step meetings, peer recovery coaching and ongoing community support. Join us💜

As October begins and the season continues to shift, East End @thrive_recovery and HUGS Inc. remain a steady place for support, connection, and community. As routines change and the year moves into a different rhythm, we continue to offer spaces where people can show up as they are. Whatever this season brings up for you, there’s space for it here. You don’t have to arrive with anything figured out. Recovery moves at its own pace, shaped by individual experience. Our October programming reflects this understanding, offering consistent support as routines shift and the season begins to change. This month’s offerings blend our established practices with opportunities to move, create, connect, and spend time in community. You’ll find meditation, Buddhist practice, chair yoga, creative expression, an open mic night, and seasonal community gatherings alongside THRIVE’s core recovery programming, including peer support, recovery groups, meetings, and other ongoing services. Whether through movement, meditation, creative expression, a support group, or simply spending time in community, there are many ways to find connection and support here. Our services welcome adults 18 and older in an environment built on acceptance. Whatever brings you to our doors, you’ll find a community ready to meet you where you are. All programs are completely free of charge. Transportation assistance is available, and no prior experience is necessary. October schedule: Call 631-822-3397 or view our stories.
